2 days to go...

WOW...only 2 days to go and I'll be leaving my house. Surgery is the 6th at 3:45pm..having to be there at 1:45pm. I am getting nervous, which has to be normal. lol. Not "scared", just nervous.

My house may never be ready, but dh will be okay. I have a lot of other things in order. I got my hair done yesterday and feel great today, other than AF trying to arrive! blah.

I will be so happy to have this all taken care of and not worry about any more surgeries due to female concers, the hysterectomy will make my 10th all together including tubal. I've had endometriosis for 13 years now!

I am going to check back in tonight but not sure I'll be on again after that. I have 2 little ones who will really miss me when I am gone, so I better spend time with them.

THANK YOU ALL so much for being here for me. I do read daily. You all have helped me MORE than you'll EVER know!!!!!

I'll be back as a Princess as soon as I can!!!!!! Not sure if they'll want to keep me 2 nights since my surgery isn't until 3:45pm. (not looking forward to the late time!)

Nervous is normal, and it gets worse the closer you get to surgery, but waiting truly is the worst part.

Sounds like you've got a lot to keep you busy until then. Good luck on your surgery and recovery.

2 days to go...

I'm also going in on the 6th. Surgery is at 8:00 am, I need to be there by 6:00 am. I'm getting nervous and questioning my choice to do this. I tried to stay busy today but the thought of surgery loomed over me all day. I hope I can sleep tomorrow night. I'm not allowed to eat any solid food after 12:00 pm tomorrow afternoon, that has me concerned. I'm not very nice when I'm hungry. I've been reading this site and geez recovery has me scared. Is it true that I probably woun't get out of bed for the frist week? (TAH) Do you force yourself to get moving or do you force yourself to sit still? Will I know what is right for my body? or will I fool myself into believing something different and end up hurting myself. Many women talk about how tired they are after a hyster, I'm scared about this too. I have thyroid disease and that alone keeps me feeling tired most of the time. Will I ever get out of bed again?
My nieghbor told my husband that she wanted to come to the hospital with us on Monday morning. Now, we are friendly with each other and all, but wanting to go really shocked me. I never thought we were that close. I felt very weirded-out by her wanting to go. When my Husbsnd said no, he said she started to cry. Then he had to explain himself to her saying I was a lot more private then she realized. I'm so glad he said no. What was she thinking?
My sister, who I am that close with, wants to come and send next week-end with me. I don't know if I'll be up for the company, but I realize that she wants to see me to reasure herself as much as she wants me help me. My sister and my husband get along wonderfully for about 3-4 hours then they start to get on eachother nerves then they start bickering. They are both on the bossy side and both very sensitive. Neither will admit they are one of a kind. Sometimes I think I married my sister. Well off to bed. Thanks for letting me ramble!

jah4377-I will be thinking of you. I cannot have anything to eat/drink after midnight tonight and my surgery isn't until 3:45 tomorrow, so I can relate!!! Just hope I don't get a migraine.

I am having TVH, so I cannot answer a lot of the questions. I am sure if you have problems with energy levels and such your Dr could help you.

I'll be thinking of you and cannot wait to hear from you

THANK YOU all for your replies and well wishes!!!!!

2 days to go...

Good evening ladies! I was in your shoes almost 4 weeks ago. The waiting and preparation are nerve wracking. I had TVH and recovery has been fairly unremarkable. Yes, I am tired alot. For every day I do something, I have a day of rest. Your body WILL tell you what you need, which is usually more rest.

I had my mom here from out of state for four days following my surgery, then my sister for 1 1/2 days and it was a Godsend as long as they know that you cannot entertain them and wait on them like a hostess. If they want to come help you out...fantastic. If they expect the royal treatment, tell them nicely you'd rather wait. You will be tired so don't feel guilty about saying, "I've got to rest". I've been told a hundred times...you only get one chance to heal right and it's so true.
Good luck to both of you. Keep in touch.
Look forward to seeing you on the other side
