Hydrothermal Ablation (HTA)
I had a HTA almost 10 years ago at the age of 31 due to horrible, heavy periods. I tried everything- hormone treatment, every type of birth control, everything short of a hysterectomy. I have 3 kids and was not having anymore. The HTA was a great remedy to my multiple problems. The procedure took about 20 minutes and was relatively painless. I did experience some pain about an hour and a half after the procprocedure. The pain lasted a couple of hours. The following 2 or 3 days following, I had very minimal cramping then nothing. I was able to return to my regular activities the next day (without lifting heavy objects). I have been VERY pleased with the outcome. I always say aside from my divorce, the HTA was the smartest thing I have ever done. I have not had a period in almost 10 years. I have experienced mild cramping once in a great while and very light bleeding maybe 3 or 4 times in the past 10 years. I have recommended the HTA to a few people and they have been very pleased with the outcome as well. The biggest thing is to be sure you are done giving birth as you will no longer be able to get pregnant. The chances of an eptopic pregnancy does slightly increase after the procedure. In my opinion, the benefits WAY outweigh any risks. I'm so glad I had the HTA. I would do it again in a second. It really worked for me and I will continue to recommend it to anyone who is a good fit for the procedure.
