ivp and cipro ureteral injury

Hi all;
I just got back from my dr AGAIN. I had my lavh on 4/30/03. I have been urinating almost every hour for the last week+. 44 times in 48 hours!!
I am going in for an I.V.P in the a.m.(checking for ureteral injury) and am now taking the antibiotic cipro AND augementen (spelling). Has anyone else had problems like this?? Also my lower back and left side was hurting alot before I went in for my appointment today, but now the pain is almost unbearable. The dr. would not give me any pain meds. When I left the castle, I had a script for 20 anexcia and then, five days later 15 more. Thats been it. When you take 2 at time, they really don't last. I can only hope that someday she'll (dr) will have this type of surgery and problems afterwords and realize what pain really is. Thanks for letting me join the pity pool.

Thanks for the I forgot to mention that the "PREP" for the IVP started as soon as I got home. Needless to say I know I won't be sleeping very much tonite. Of course thats nothing unusual anyway , but thats a whole new thread. Thanks though.

I did have trouble with my bladder after the surgery and was urinating very frequently and having to get up several times to go to the bathroom. The doctor gave me Detrol and Pyridium and it helped. Did you already try that to reduce the urgency factor?

In my case the doctor said that my bladder was bruised from the surgery since it had been adhered to my uterus before the TAH... when it is bruised I guess it tends to spasm. It took a few weeks to settle down.

I hope yours gets better and there is no injury. I still have trouble with my bladder but it now appears to be due to the pain I have on my right side getting worse (which the uro said is not coming from my bladder but the proximity gets all the nerves firing and makes me feel like I have to go all the time).

I feel for you... It is difficult when you feel the need to go all the time - I find it very uncomfortable and it makes sleep difficult. I hope you find an answer soon.
