surgery is scheduled but unsure

Hi, I'm new here so a little backgroud. I'm 55 and very healthly. Mid-April out of the clear blue, I started bleeding. Called my doctor, went in for a check up. He scheduled a biopsy procedure in his office. That showed endometrial hyperplasia (complex) so he scheduled a D&C with hysterosocopy. The biopsy results from the D&C showed no complex cells any more. I didn't think this was possible; I thought the D&C would show stil complex or atypica cells. He says that the biopsy done in his office must have removed the cells. I spotted for about three more weeks but now no spotting at all. I thought that I wanted to move forward with a hysterectomy and scheduled for June 19th but now I am not sure. He says that I can wait and have another in-office biopsy done in 6 months to be sure hyperplasia has not returned. I thought I didn't want the threat of bleeding at any time hanging over my head but now I think I may be rushing into a hysterectomy. Any thoughts or experiences out there?

If you are unsure about the surgery, please give serious thought to a 2nd or 3rd medical opinion. Ultimately, YOU are the one who will have to live with the results of the hysterectomy, good or bad.
