GI Dr told me yesterday that he is recommending to my PC Dr and GYN Dr that I have surgery . He said that my pain isn't a GI issue that he believes adhesions have attached to my bowel. So with movement, etc it is pulling and causing pain and the pain is getting worse and not staying the same. So looks like I'm facing another surgery-lucky me . Sure hope my body heals correctly after this one and I don't have so many infections again!

Well, I am sorry to hear that you have to have more surgery. Beleive me.....no one understands better than me! Three surgeries in six months has me just plain worn out.

On a more positive note, this recovery is going very well so far. I haven't had to contact my doctor even once. It also gave me the opportunity to finish the crocheted afghan I had started for my doc last time around. I also made about six crocheted uterus' (uteri?) and sent them out to my "reconstruction team".

Bordom is starting to settle in so I'm kinda glad that I start back to classes next Friday.

Good luck on everything and my prayers are definitely with you.

I'm glad to hear that things are going smoothly this time around for you. You defiently had a tough time the first time around! The last 5 months have been really had on me with all the infections and not healing correctly. I'm not myself! I can't wait to have a normal life again. I'm praying that the adhesions don't come back or at least not for a long time! Thank you.

I have not responded before, but have followed you all with the ups and downs. Thank you all for keeping me sain. I had to have a TAH March 12th rather suddenly due to fast growing endo, but at the time they were having a hard time seeing what it was because it grew so fast. My recovery seems to have gone really well, but in the last week I have had some "bruising" time of pain in the abdominal area. Just wondered if anyone else was going through the same thing.

Welcome I have had pain in my lower left abdominal area too. I have not had any bruising. I know mine is from adhesions from one of my hyster scars. Have you gone to your Dr yet?

I have an appointment on the 29 with an advance GYN who is a specialist with adhesions and complications from hysterectomies. I did not know there was this type of Dr. I'm exicted and hope that he'll be able to help me. He uses microscopes and is very gentle during the surgery (hopefully this will help and will not cause adhesions to grow again). If by chance my endo did come back then I'm hoping he'll be able to find it and treat it unlike a general surgeon who wouldn't know what it looks like.

I'm having a lap in the next week or two. The Dr agrees that I have adhesions and possibly my endometriosis has came back. He is putting a gel, solution and a mess that will help them not to grow again. He did say that 5-10% of patients they can grow back again even when using these products but that he thinks this will stop it. If my endometriosis did come back then he is taking me off the Premerian for at least 6 months. Then he'll put me back on something maybe even the pill since it helps the endometriosis from growing. I also have to have an ultrasound to be sure that my ovary didn't grow back if any of the tissue was left behind. Yes thats right they can it is called Ovarian Remnant Syndrome. I guess we won't know until the ultrasound. I'm glad to finally go to an adhesion specialist and a GYN to boot so he'll be able to address my endometriosis. Even with all of this happening I still am VERY GLAD I had my hysterectomy and wouldn't change that.

My US showed that I have 2 masses on both sides. My Dr said that one or a combination of the following is happening: my ovaries grew back ovarian remnant syndrome, my endometriosis is back, & I developed adhesions from my hysterectomy. I’m having surgery tomorrow. He really is sure my adhesions are back & have attached to my bowels & possible elsewhere. If I do have ovarian remnant syndrome then he’ll remove the tissue and if my endo is back he'll treat that too. I'm praying that my new Dr will be able to take care of the adhesions and they won't come back. Then I'll be like the rest of you-back to my normal life agian.

Shelly! I'm sorry to hear that there is still so much you have to go through. How can a person cope! You seem to sound very positive so I'm gonna suppose that you're doing ok with all of this. I'm going to pray for you!

BTW, I posted the other day and it isn't on the list? Wonder what happened to it.

Anyway, I'm just back from a summer away at my trailer and was checking in to see how y'all are doing. Had a good rest, but I am still tired more than pre surgery. Where is that energy????

Take care!
Kathie
