Just wanted you to know I've had the same questions. The same thoughts. I also lost weight this year...
I don't have any answers but I have thought about going up to my gym (the Y) and just telling some of the trainers there and asking for their support w/getting back on track after my surgery....
Of course, I haven't done this yet. Worried about feeling awkard...But - I guess soon enough I'm going to have to put on my big girl pants and just do it. Maybe it'll make me feel better.
GOOD LUCK!!!!

Hi! You are far from the first (((sister))) who has asked about weight gain after a hysterectomy.
This is another of those situations where (and you're gonna hate this) "everyone is different." (I said you'd hate it. ) There really isn't a pat answer about weight gain OR loss, and I think that is a good thing. Some ladies say that they gained weight after surgery while others feel so good that they are able to lose more easily. Losing or keeping the ovaries doesn't seem to matter, either.
I think that, hysterectomy or not, ovaries or not, the key to weight loss and maintenance is the same: calorie intake and activity. No other way to go about it. So I would venture to say that your hard work will not be in vain.
As for the last part of your post....

Here's a great "memorable thread" on the same subject. It's a Cult! Enjoy reading it!

I have lost 5 pounds since surgery, and since I have the okay to begin walking more on Monday, I hope that more will come off....I have been fighting the weight for years, and really cannot wait until I get the "all clear" for full exercise......

oh thanks that makes me feel alot better, i have a friend that keeps telling me i am going to gain all this weight, so i am going to stop listening to her. You are nervous enough without people telling you, you are going to be as big as a house.
