anyone else with increased breast pain?
Hello,
my TAH is scheduled for 4/18. I have been living it up and eating more sugary things, more protein, and more alcohol for the last two weeks (I don't usually eat very much of these things). I am having pain in my breasts, especially the sides. Anyone else have this? I am having a TAH secondary to huge fibroids. I am 36 with no children, so this surgery is rocking my world. No chance of babies makes me pretty sad. BUT......that's how it will have to be. I am having trouble sleeping and everything. Thank you guys for being here.

Re: anyone else with increased breast pain?
I'm really sorry to hear of what you are going though, and can't imagine all the emotions you must be feeling, since I know I no longer need my uterus. I'm a bit older than you (39) and I'm having DvH on 4/19 for fibroids, enlarged uterus, painful periods, etc.
I don't have the breast pain, but I'm certainly having trouble sleeping, which is more than likely anxiety related. I've also been indulging in sweets lately and having digestive issues as a result. Time to get back on track I guess.
Anyway, I know you'll get the support you need here as this site has been an amazing resource for me. Take care!!

Re: anyone else with increased breast pain?
I used to get the kind of feeling you describe when I was experiencing emotional distress. My doctor told me that my breasts were just very sensitive to changes in stress hormones.Having too much caffeine also created this sensation.
It's a good idea to check with your doctor to be sure it isn't something else (like a dietary change).
 and I'm sending huge hugs.

Re: anyone else with increased breast pain?
I've had breast pain too. I kept walking around rubbing them and telling my husband something wasn't right. I would be so ticked if the boobs were in trouble on top of my uterus issues!
An ovarian cyst has my hormones going bananas. I told my GYN and she told me to stop taking fish oil and cut out caffeine. Sure enough it went away except a twinge here or there during my period. It helped somewhat with adenomyosis pain too.

You are so right about the caffeine! I know all of this good advice that I am just not rmembering lately. I have stopped the caffeine and things are getting better. I always slip back into bad habits when I am stressed. Sigh. Thank you everyone for your help!

Re: anyone else with increased breast pain?
I wasn't allowed to have alcohol 72 hours prior to surgery. Please check on this as you do not want some weird complication with the anesthesia because of it.

Re: anyone else with increased breast pain?
It's good to know I'm not alone with this. I've been dealing with breast pain and tenderness, and have been kind of freaked out by it. Been chugging a lot more coffee lately as I have had severe insomnia! I have always had tender breasts, so I guess I should expect this with everything going on (fibroids, cysts). Thanks all for posting!
