Prolapse, can I still exercise?

So I was just diagnosed with prolapse by a doctor in my practice that I have never seen before. So i have to wait 6 days till my doctor is back to see him and schedule my rectocele and vaginal hysterectomy. I lift fairly heavy weights about 5-6 days a week run and do yoga, do you all think I can keep doing anything untill my surgery or should I just stop everything till i find out more. I haven't worked out in 4 days and feel horrible and miss it

Re: freaked about missing workouts

I'm new here I think I posted my reply in the wrong spot before sorry. So I was diagnosed with prolapse 2 days ago after a bout in the ER on Sat. I work out 5-6 days a week lift pretty heavy and I run and do yoga. I have to wait 6 days for my doctor to return from vacation to see me and schedule my surgey which is most likely going to be rectocele and vaginal hysterectomy. Do you all think I can still do anything while I wait to see my doctor or should I just stop everything. I have not worked out in 5 days and its killin me

Re: freaked about missing workouts

I'm so sorry you are going through all that Giabella. I recommend calling his office and speaking with a nurse. Good luck and I hope you get back to working out soon!

Re: Prolapse, can I still exercise?

Definitely seek your doctor's opinion. I used to lift heavy weight as well, and squats are what caused me to notice my prolapse. I'd be wary of anything that caused downward abdominal pressure (like squats).
