Getting up every two hours
I had a TVH three plus weeks out, no repairs, and am a little discouraged with the getting up at night to pee. Even though I try to watch my liquid intake in the evening, I still have to go about every two hours. It's not just a little bit either, I feel like my bladder is pretty full every time and that I empty it.
This was my problem before surgery, and my doctor felt like fibroids were pressing against my bladder. But of course, now that is not the problem.
I was on ten days of antibiotics as I had to go home with a cath, so I feel like it is not because of a UTI.
Am I just being impatient and need to give my bladder more time for the healing process? Does your bladder have to be retrained as some have told me?
I am really just so thankful to be able to go on my own (for those of you who had to have the extended cath experience)...and don't want to be poked or prodded in that department.
I'm hoping to find assurance by hearing like stories of sisters that have overcome this problem with time.

Getting up every two hours
Hi,
I was up two or three times each night also. Only sleeping about two hours at a time. At about 7 weeks It returned to normal. Sometimes I can go all night now. Yes! Sleeping again has been so wonderful, just hang in there and do your best.

I'm having that problem, too. I don't always have to go a lot but I do go.
I'm looking forward to sleeping all night...or at least only getting up once. But now it's usually up 3 times a night at least.

Thank you all for your responses. It is always reassuring to know you aren't the only one to go through life's little glitches.
Happy4all, you give me hope that things can get back to normal! I just need to be patient for everything to heal in its own time.

Getting up every two hours
Hi maggzy,
I tried to hold it last night (after already being up a couple of times), and I ended up hurting for an hour or so after that. Maybe it's hard to teach an old bladder new tricks...or something like that!
Let me know if you have a break through. Maybe it will take 7 weeks like Happy4all! Blessings to you.

getting up every two hours
I am just over 7-weeks post-op and had the same experience. I normally have to urinate quite frequently...always have...and I almost never sleep thru the night. After the surgery, I was getting up to go more than usual. I thought it was strange...same story...fibroids pressing, etc. Now that they are out...what gives?
I noticed in the last week or so, I have only gotten up once or twice versus the four or five earlier on. Give it some time. It will get better....
One thing I have noticed is a GIANT increase in thirst! How strange? AND my nasal passages seem really very dry now. I thought maybe I was getting up to go to the bathroom due to my major thirst and all of the water I'm drinking for that.
Hmmmmm....and I was concerned about vaginal dryness!

How long ago did you get your cath out? I had mine in for a week and it took about 2 weeks for that feeling to go away. I would still call the doctor if you don't improve soon just to make sure it is not a uti. Good luck, please let us know how you are doing.
