First Time On I need Help!!!!!!

Hi.
I am 33 years old (not old enough for memopause) and have Endo. I had a Lap in 2000,
which confirmed the Endo, my Dr. removed lots from all over my pelvic cavity,
He also found Fibroids in the walls of my uterus?. In June of 2001 I had a large cyst and
right ovary and tube removed. Now just six months later it is back in full swing and I have a
Jan 14th. date to have a hyst. My Dr. is going to try to save my other ovary but I have
a very strong feeling it won't be possible, so, I need advice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! help
or words of wisdom!!!.
Thanks Emily

Welcome!

Hi, Emily! Welcome to HysterSisters--the best place for support and comfort and info. Sorry to hear you'll have to have a hyst for endo and fibroids, but I'm sure you'll be glad you had it when you're over the first couple weeks of recovery. Read all you can on the pages here (pull-down menus, etc.) and especially go to the top of the page and "search" under "fibroids" and "endometriosis" and "ovaries." You'll find many threads on these subjects--lots and lots of reading material. Fibroids can be on the inner lining of the uterus, in the muscle of the uterus, on the outside of the uterus, and dangling from "stalks" on the uterus (those can press on other abdominal anatomy and cause trouble). And ask any questions you have--someone here will try to answer them! Good luck and best wishes!

First Time On I need Help!!!!!!

I totally agree with Chowmomma... I am 31 as well and had a TVHBSO two weeks ago and I am so glad I did it.... I feel fantastic. I am taking HRT in the form of the CLimara patch. The wait and the anxiety is the worst part of the whole thing. My problems were endo, andomyosis, PCOS, cysts on my cervix, and constant back pain from my uterus being retroverted. I am now pain free and it rocks! Listen to Chowmomma - she is absolutely right!

Keep the Faith

Hi there!!

I had the horrible endo monster too. I had my hyst on 9/11. I feel wonderful. It took some time to recover but all is going well and I don't miss the pain at all.

What I wanted to tell you was to keep the faith. Both my ovaries were stuck to my uterus with scar tissue and endo. My Doctor was able to save both my ovaries!!!!!!

But remember even if he cant save your ovary you have lots of HRT selections. You WILL find one that is right for you. Stay positive!!

If you need anything or have any questions you can email me at [email protected]

Good Luck and my prayers are with you.

Emily...

Now that you have a surgery date, you can begin getting your 'nest' ready for recovery. Also...please add your surgery date to your profile. Go to 'user cp' up top and then edit profile. That way you are added to our Princess calendar!

Keep reading! Everyone here is very helpful and welcoming and will help you through the process.

Wishing you healing.
