Hello everyone-glad to hear from some of the sisters. It seems as if we have all gotten on with our lives. I am still numb and sore in spots. I am so looking forward to the day that it finally goes away. Baseball season has finally ended for us. At least for about 3 weeks and then fall baseball begins. My oldest nephew's team won the district championship but was knocked out of the state championship after 3 games. They received nice plaques for their district win. It was great. No one ever thought they would go as far as they did since they almost didn't have a team. Everyone is so proud of them. Only 2 more days to work and my vacation is finally here It will be so nice to be away from everything. Have a great weekend all. Hope everyone is doing better these days.

Good to read good news - feel like we just picked up where we left off. I thought I was the only one with discomfort/pain still left since no one had been posting-- I had no pain at all for about 2 weeks and then the belly pain came back--weird. nothing harsh, just annoying. I think it started when I started eating sugar again...have to investigate further.
My energy is back though! yay! tapping my toes as I type. Excited about my trip on Thursday--9 days in Seattle, Belligham, WA, Victoria Island, BC and Portland, OR! Got my resume in shape just in case we sell the house--there's a potential buyer who is waiting a few months to save more for down payment and they love our house--if we are unsold till they come back I think they'll be happy. Karma is funny--I think the good that mom and I have done may be coming back-listen to this:
The young couple who love our house...the guy talked to a buddy of his about our house and his buddy said "you should talk to my girlfriend, she can help you find a good house or deal, she's a realtor. So he gave him her number...his girlfriend IS MY REALTOR. Now if you think that's a small coincidence. ..there are 9000 realtors in this area!
Gotta work tomorrow so I can leave Thursday, I can't wait!
Kim
Molly, I didn't know your name was really Kim too!
Love reading the underdog story--congratulations team!
SO GLAD to hear that land was saved!
Please enjoy every day, Randy Pausch died of his pancreatic cancer today, he's my age. brings it home to me.
love his quote "beating the grim reaper isn't living longer, it's living well".

Hi everyone
I haven't had any time to visit the site either, but I didn't have any reminder messages so figured as you all did that everyone was back on with life. I know I am.
I'm very very busy in my new job and loving every moment of the 10 - 12 hour days. I had a great week vacation with my hubby two weeks ago and we spent the entire time at the beach. We were there again today..I got a new 'kini' and very much enjoy no periods
I get numb when I overdo, but other than that a twinge every here & there that I try very hard to ignore. I'm training for a 10K Run for the Cure in October and did 8 K last week...all in all good progress.
Take care & enjoy your summer with your families!

Hi old friends
It was nice to hear from some of you. I think of you guys but don't take the time to write until I see that someone else is posting. Sorry. My life is back to the usual "busyness" but I am still having pain. It's pretty much the same pain I was having before the TAH so I'm not sure I should've even had it. I can't hardly stand that thought.
I had a colonoscopy and EGD on Wednesday. The dr called to give me biopsy reports on Friday but I wasn't home. I'm suppose to call them Monday. I wish he would've just said it was all clear. Before the procedures he told me he thought I have Irritable Bowl Syndrome which I have suspected for a while. But after the procedure he told my husband that he doesn't think I have IBS after all. I was too drugged to ask why he changed his mind and my hubby didn't think to ask. I'll probably find out on Monday.
Marta - I hope and pray that your dr will find the cause of your pain and be able to treat it easily.
You guys take care. Oh, to those of you who are in the middle of winter...that sounds so good right now. It was really hot and humid here this weekend. So, enjoy the cool weather!
Blessings,
Melanie

Melanie,
I went to see my surgeon about a month ago with stray pains--she gave me dicyclomine for IBS - and said take it 3 times a day when you have pain--but you can stop them when your pain is gone. I'd never had IBS or even knew what she meant-- I took it for about a week and those pains are gone and I haven't taken the pills again. Perhaps the IBS is our bowels "irritated" by the surgery and all the trauma of the past few months--maybe it's a temporary form?
Hope your pain goes away soon like mine did. It's good to have those pills "in case" but I haven't needed them again.
Kim

Diagnosis: Celiac Disease
Hi girls,
Well I got the results of my scope and received the diagnosis of celiac disease. The good news is that this can be controlled by my diet. I have to TOTALLY change the way I eat but it should make a big difference in my life. When I looked at a list of symptoms for celiac disease, it included a lot of my fibromyalgia symptoms. I highly reccomend reading about it if you have unexplained abdominal pain or fatigue. I have high hopes for my future on a new diet!! I hate taking so much medicine which I've had to do for the last 11 years. I hope to be able to reduce or even eliminate it once the celiac disease is under control. That may take up to 2 years so I'll have to be patient. But all in all, I am optimistic.
Kim - Thanks for the info about dicyclimine (probably not the right spelling). I had actually taken it since my TAH and it helped at times but not always. BTW, I hope your home sells soon!
Marta - Any news from your Dr? I'm praying for you to feel better soon.
Take care,
Melanie

Wow Melanie--so some bad news might actually be good news! That would be awesome if your new diet means losing all or many meds!

Hello all, seems like you've all been reading and posting this week. Leaves me with that warm, fuzzy feeling knowing that your all still visiting here at least. It's saturday night here as I write this post. DH is in the main lounge watching his beloved Australian rules footy, and both DSs are out with either girlfriends or mates for the night. So I'm left feeling a bit at a loss with myself at the moment, so I hope you don't mind if I just talk?
I've been pondering lately "THE MEANING OF LIFE" so to speak (such a cliche)and I think I've found the answer. At least for me!
IT IS (Are you ready for it?) Just to be happy. Not to worry & stress, no matter what your circumstances, because inevitably you can't change that much that goes on around you.
You can change your own circumstances if you choose to, but s#*#t still happens anyway, so why let it gnaw away at your life. After all we only get one!!(Unless, of course, you belong to one of the religions that keep on getting reborn after each time you pass on. Good luck to you people.)
So, I'm choosing to live as content and happy a life as I can. There are so many things that I would love to do, like travel the world. I may never be able to afford to, but in this time in history we are so lucky that we can go anywhere just by logging on to our computers. (Or even opening a book)
My sons take all this for granted. They have grown up having what I call "EVERYTHING". They don't take time to enjoy the simple things like the first smells of spring, or the bright colours after a shower of rain, or a crisp frost on a chilly winters morning, with the frozen cobwebs hanging on the fences. I drive them to work & I think.'Am I the only one seeing this"
I hope you all see it too, and take the time to take in a big deep breath and feel what its really like to be alive. Put all the silly stuff in it right place and enjoy just being peacefull. Even if it's just for a few minutes.
Live happy everyone.
