Hi all,

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!

Hyster – hope you guys have fun at the turny!

Jan – enjoy your conference, hope you can get back early enough on Sunday to enjoy a bit of time to unwind.

Thursday evening, one of my girlfriends had to bail out, she wasn’t feeling well, so we decided to postpone. I guess it was best, since I was pretty tired. Friday I ended up going skiing and then practice Agility with my dog. Today I went shopping downtown, which I haven’t done in a while. I wanted to get specific jeans (which turned out to be half price!!) and I decided to get a pair of boots (Hush Puppies which were reduced form 190 to 70$), I was so happy with my bargains. I also bought a purse, full price , but I liked it. Then I went visiting my mother and came home. Just watching hockey on the telly this evening.

Thinking of you all,

Good Morning ladies!!

I was too sleepy after I arrived home last night to post. My roommate was a very loud snorer and my sleep was not all that great. The conference was a strategic planning meeting. I am on the state board for IL S Soc Wkers. We meet every 2 months for a conference and discussion, legislation, licensure, planning, other issues pertinent to our field. We have an annual conference for 3 days in Oct for our entire mebership (13-1500). We provide professional development conference, exhibits, as well as food and entertainment. We had to begin planning that this weekend. The next meeting will be in April. I had missed 2 meetings, and the annual conference. because of the hyst, but it was nice to get back to business. Today I will be busy of course to get ready for tomorrow. Tomorrow is my day to testify. I hope it wraps up tomorrow and does not go over into Tuesday. Friday I was asked to be part of the crisis team at NIU on Monday. I was so disappointed that I could not go because I had to testify, AAAARRRRGGGHHHHH. Please keep those students in your prayers as they return back to classes tomorrow.

Cindy, what a stressful way to start your weekend! I am glad you got it all done and DS got into the tourney. I hope he has had fun. Oh, BTW, Joan and I wish we could come for that steak dinner too!!

Grateful I hope you are feeling better! That sub would have pushed me over the edge too!! LOL Oh I know he meant well, but they really are so clueless. I hope your DS' party went well. That is alot of teenage boys, you brave soul, .

Karen your ancestry finds have been really interesting. You have some amazing stuff to pass on to your children.

Joan I am glad you got to the card game. Those ladies nights are so good for the spirit. I hope the snow has stopped for you. It is still cold, but we have had sun all weekend. Now if we could melt all that snow we would be moving in the right direction.

Lisa Olive Garden for us is 45-50 miles, but worth it! I love the salad, and just about everything they have. Dh is working today and I am going to make spaghetti and Italian sausage for my DD, GD, and me. I hope your storms have passed and you are out working in your lovely yard.

Murph, sorry your girl's night did not work out, but sounds like you had a great day Friday. I never have that kind of luck shopping. I am sure glad to have a friend that has those kind of days.

I hope you all have a nice day planned. I will check back later. Have a great day!

Hi ladies!
It's been a hectic weekend. I just wanted to pop in quick and give you an update. Our team is undefeated so far. They have their last game later this afternoon. If they win, they win the championship. Whether they win or lose we'll be proud of them, they've done so well. Keep your fingers crossed. I'll try to check back tonight to catch up on posts and let you know how it went. If not tonight, tomorrow.

I hope you are all having a good weekend.

I'm routing for the team, Cindy. I hope they can do it. Even it they don't, they have done excellent getting this far.

Jan I'm glad you had a safe trip. I hope you get everything accomplished you want to today.

Today is a rainy, rainy day. It is supposed to clear up tomorrow. Then in the 70's by mid week. I sure hope so
I need to get my laundry going. I am going to work on getting the income tax stuff together, also.
Dinner tonight will be leftover pasta. We were going to have it last night and then some friends stopped by and wanted to go out for pizza, so we went.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Hi

Cindy that is great for your DS! I am keeping my fingers crossed but I think it is a win-win they should be proud of themselves no matter how it comes out.

Lisa sorry to hear it is still raining. Your midweek sure sounds good.

I finished the shopping, straightening and laundry. The spaghetti turned out good, it was a really good batch of sausage. GD is done with her bath and will be going to bed by 8. Then it will be a movie and off to bed.

Have a great evening ladies!!

Hi ladies!

Thanks for the well wishes! They lost the championship game 40-45, and took the 2nd place trophy. They were really disappointed, but all of the parents made sure they knew how proud we were of them. They did great! I have not been able to do anything other than the tourny this weekend. I feel so unorganized. We need food, the house needs cleaned, I need to run other errands. I need to get my bearings. Tomorrow will be a little stressful and hectic trying to get caught up. Tomorrow is my volunteer lunch day so that will put a dent in the day and I probably won't get too much done. DH is leaving for LA tomorrow and won't be back until Thurs. night, so I'll be a single mom most of this week. Hey sas, I think I need some xanax! LOL

Jan I'm glad you made it back from your conference and that all went well other than not sleeping. I'm sure you had alot of catching up to do today. Spaghetti sounds good. We've had dinner out everynight, and I can honestly say I'd like a homecooked meal. Course, I have to make it.

Murph sorry your girls night didn't work out. Your shopping trip sounds great. I love when I come away with good bargains. I would pay full price for a purse too, it I really liked it.

Lisa I hope you were able to get all of your chores done.

Karen you've found out alot of interesting things about your ancestry.

grateful I hope you're feeling better. Gotta love those men! LOL They are clueless, but their heart is in the right place. Gotta give them that.

I hope you are all having a nice evening.

hyper hyster it's dissappointing for them to lose but it was close score though so it could of gone either way.

our guides had a practise cook tonite at the hall, with gas cookers, they are getting better all the time and cooked lovely meals and desert and made cups of teas for the leaders. jennys group even remembered to boil water for dishes.

next monday we are taking the girl guides to the high school pool for a swim
folowing week we go for a bush walk with a lady from bird and forest club and she is going to talk to the girls about the little kiwi. can't wait for that one.
i went back to doctor today as my surgery i had back in january for that benign lump hasn't quite healed, but the other night john(hubby) pulled a little stitch out that was sticking out it felt heaps better when he did that, i told the doc this and he thinks it is just going to take a little more time to heal, but it looks ok and needed another special strip to cover it.
i have to keep the strip plaster on for weeks. ugh why won't it just heal.

Good morning ladies,

Hope you had a good weekend, I see some of you guys were pretty busy.

Hyper, sooo close, but congrats to your DS for going that far. Boy, you’re getting a rough start to the week, but I’m sure your weekend was worth it. Just stick to the essential and the rest gradually – you amaze me at always ending pulling off the house up keeping, meal cooking, school and church events and kid activities, but don’t wear yourself down please. Take a little time to kick back and enjoy a treat of some kind.

Jan, nice to hear your conference went well and that you had a bit of time to enjoy the rest of the weekend. Snoring roommate, LOL. I’ll be thinking of you on court day, I alos hope it doesn’t spill over into a 2nd day.

Karen, good going for jenny’s group of the practice cooking! Sorry to hear that scar is still giving you grief, I hope the healing goes better.

Lisa, hope you have the nice weather they predicted. Here we’ve been enjoying very sunny days, even if it’s a bit cold. It doesn’t seem as bad when the sun is very bright.

Done with my day’s laundry, I’ll be preparing a few make ahead meals for the week, then I’ll go for a nice walk on the trail with my walking buddy (my dog!). Maybe a bit of ironing and a short workout, we’ll see.

Have a nice day everybody.

2007 - Hysterectomy Oct 01, 2007 - Oct 08, 2007

Good morning ladies,

We had a nice and rather relaxing weekend even though it was a wet one. The rain finally stopped yesterday afternoon. It is supposed to be a dry week in the 60's.

So the only thing we went out for over the weekend was dd's haircut on Saturday and her dance class yesterday. She is feeling better but now has congestion...fever, bodyache and chills - gone...yeah!!! She wasn't feeling well enough to go to the retreat. She went back to school today.

I did do some scrapbooking and finished a project I was working on...felt good.

Watched the Oscars on and off while I was getting dinner ready. We had chicken, mashed potatoes, and salad. Tonight is beef tacos.

I was in bed at 9 last night due to my back pain...the good news though is that I slept through the night. I have my appt to see the orthopedic specialist today. We will see what I find out.

Grateful - hope you felt better over the weekend.

Hyper - Congrats to ds & team...they did a great job.

Murph - You had a good shopping trip...I love those kind especially when you find good bargains.

Mrswillie - good luck with your testament today...hope it will be done today. I did hear on the news this morning that students at NIU were returning to classes today. My prayers are going out to them.

Karen - Glad you enjoyed the bus tour. You sure are learning lots about your ancestry. Glad you had the doctor check your surgery area. It's good news that it looks good - it's just taking it's time to heal.

Well time to get back to work...have a wonderful day. Talk to you later.

2007 - Hysterectomy Oct 01, 2007 - Oct 08, 2007

Afternoon all. Things are good this way, just off to a busy Monday. I still feel nauseated but I have no clue why. Don't want to go to the doc, I have had more than enough of them. They are not likely to see me in 2008 unless I break something!!! I have not actually thrown up, just feel like I could at any moment. Just finished some soup and quiche and asking myself why did I eat that??? I pray it stays down. I leave at 6 in the morning for Savannah and do not want to be sick on the plane. I think I may still have some anti-nausea medication from hyster, so might try to dig that out. The party was great. All the boys were very well-behaved but I'm a mean mom and they all know it, so they know when they come to my house, have to be on their best behavior. I have 2 rules: Pee IN the water and don't break anything. Other than that, they're free to roam...

So, the nice party mood was severely interrupted last night. Won't go into details but it involved a call from another parent, lies by my son and me beating him and getting so upset I had to leave the house. I went shopping and found a great sale at Stein Mart and dropped a couple hundred bucks there and stayed gone until DH got home. The shopping actually made me feel much better! LOL. DS was very upset by what he had done and it just made for a very long night. I think it will be good for me to get away. He really is a good kid but about once a year he does something that's usually not a big deal but the lies he feels he has to tell to cover it all up are draining. Jan- he needs a counselor!!! LOL.

Lisa- I hope the storm didn't do too much damage and you didn't lose power. Does housework ever end???

Karen- it sometimes takes longer than we like to heal and it can be such a pain. Glad your DH could play doc and make you feel better!

Cindy- that is great about the tourney! I had a feeling they would do really good and they were so close! I bet your DS is feeling proud. Sounds like they really came together. It will take you a couple of days to get your house back on track from the running around.

Jan- will definitely be in prayer for the NIU family that was such a sad incident. Hope your testimony goes nice and quick. That's horrible about the snoring roommate. Snoring bothers me so much, makes me want to put a pillow over the person! I always travel with ear plugs, even on the plane.

Linda-too bad about your friend but you are my kind of shopper, bargains! That's really the best kind. There are only a few things I'll pay full price for and one is a good pair of jeans. Have to wrap all the way around these big ole buns.

quick- glad your DD is better and was able to go back to school. Surely this is the last of that in your house!!

Joan- guess I waited too late on the spice, darn it, it sure sounded good. The chile lime tilapia is easy, here's the recipe:
For chile lime butter
1/2 stick (1/4 cup) unsalted butter, softened
1 tablespoon finely chopped shallot
1 teaspoon finely grated fresh lime zest
2 teaspoons fresh lime juice
1 teaspoon minced fresh Thai or serrano chile (preferably red), including seeds
1/2 teaspoon salt
For fish
6 (5- to 6-oz) pieces skinless tilapia fillet
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions
Make chile lime butter:
Stir together butter, shallot, zest, lime juice, chile, and salt in a bowl.
Prepare fish:
Pat fish dry and sprinkle with salt. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a 12-inch nonstick skillet over moderately high heat until just smoking, then sautee 3 pieces of fish, turning over once with a spatula, until golden and just cooked through, 4 to 5 minutes, and transfer to a plate. Sautee remaining fish in remaining tablespoon oil in same manner.
Serve each piece of fish with a dollop of chile lime butter.

Sas and suki- hope all is well your way.

I will try to log on while I'm gone but if not, everyone have a great week and try your best to stay out of trouble while I'm gone ...
