Pain Ball

hi was wondering did anyones dr's use a pain ball just found out thats what my dr. will be using , if so how was it. i know this is post op but want to hear from previous peeps about it my dtye is 5-17

I didn't have a 'pain ball'...but I did have an antibiotic ball.

After surgery a 'ball/sponge' was soaked with antibiotics and inserted into my vagina. It stayed there 24 hours.

Then the Dr. took it out buy grabbing an end and pulling...but actually unraveling it. DH said it looked like he was unraveling a baseball.

Big pile of material on the bed, that looked like rags. It all took about 5 minutes, and did NOT hurt one bit.

I had a TAH on 3-18-05 and I had a ball of pain medication in a pouch with a strap that I put on my shoulder when I got up. Didn't know what it was until the following day when my doctor told me that the ball was full of medication with a tube that was going directly to my incision. It helped, didn't feel a bit of pain from the incision site.

I had one... it was wonderful! I felt absolutely nothing in my tummy with it! You will feel 'puls' etc - but basically it keeps you painfree without demerol or percoset. Wish it could have come home with me.

Ot's in a pouch and sorta like a fanny pack that you can throw over your shoulder on a long stap. Only prob was the tubes and keep all them straight.
