How does the uterus know!?!
Okay, I've read the posts about women saying their last period is a doozy. I am having my hysterectomy because of prolapses and not bleeding problems, yet my uterus seems to know something is up! I am on birth control pills for medical reasons and have always had very regular periods. I was expecting my last period when I stopped the pill, in about 1 week. I woke up today and I have a full fledged period while still taking my pills! I rarely get cramping or spotting yet I have had both this month.
How does it Know? It's almost kind of creepy thinking it has a mind of its own. I have a feeling it is probably the stress of surgery which causes these abnormalities, but I kind of find it humorous to think of my uterus as having a mind of its own.

How does the uterus know!?!
Dear Eager,
I believe that our bodies have an innate intelligence that we don't even begin to tap and that is why our gut reactions are so strong, powerful and I think always on the mark. I hope you aren't in too much pain and that your surgery goes well. I hope your body's knowing will help you heal all the more faster.

How does the uterus know!?!
My uterus went on strike the last month! For the first time in 36 years I didn't have a period.

How does the uterus know!?!
It's funny how that happens, isn't it! When I had my TAH, my last period started two days before surgery, a week early, and was one of the worst I ever had! It's like Aunt Flo wanted to go out with a bang.
Now, I'm scheduled for a breast reduction, and I swear the Booby Twins are growing! They've also been getting in my way a lot more and just being a general nuisance. The pain in my neck and shoulders has also increased about 50% since I scheduled the surgery.
Our bodies do seem to have a mind of their own!

How does the uterus know!?!
I know just what you mean. I had a TVH due to prolapse and my uterus caused me so much pain before it left. I didn't think I could make it till surgery. I couln't wait till the doc. removed it. I think my uterus just had to make me pay a little more before it left.

How does the uterus know!?!
I was experiencing spotting/period about every 21 days the last year before my surgery. Sometimes even a little earlier, sometimes a little later, but not much. Prior to my adeno diagnosis, my period was always like clockwork. Every 28 days. My hysterectomy was scheduled so that I would be done with my period when I went in. We scheduled it on day 28 since I'd been having my periods on day "21ish" for over a year. Well the week came and went. No period. Surgery was scheduled for Monday and Saturday I came down with the worst PMS migraine I'd ever had. Then Sunday morning I started bleeding. Horrible headache pain and cramps and I couldn't take anything for it. So much for planning ahead !
