Happy Birthday Doodlebee!! Just think, you have given yourself a great present, it will just take time for it to completely kick in. Enjoy your birthday with (as we call it in the Pacific Northwest) liquid sunshine!

I am definitelty feeling emotional. Friday I just started feeling like I would when my period was coming - grouchy, crampy, edgy, etc. This weekend I stayed in bed snuggled up to my heating pad, it was about the only thing that helped with the cramps (they weren't severe, but constant and really annoying). I am still not sleeping that well and I know that is definitely contributing to the emotions. Physically, I am feeling better than I did a couple weeks ago, but emotionally, I am getting drained. I just keep telling myself that it will all even out eventually.

Thanks Butterfly! I like that...liquid sunshine! I will have to use that phrase.
I think we had the same weekend. Hopefully next weekend will be better. I am certainly feeling better overall, I guess over anxious to be "well". I know, give it time....
Thank you all ladies!!!!

I had TAH also, the stitches are inside, but I have passed some. They weren't any big deal, and you might not even notice when you pass them. I've still been spotting, so I have no idea how much I have passed, but I have seen a few that I could tell were stitches when I've been in the bathroom... They dissolve, and as they do, pieces can pass out...I assume the only ones that I will pass are the ones vaginal...Can't see how the abdominal ones would come through...I'm thinkin that wouldn't be a good thing...LOL

I have been doing a lot of cleaning today and I am starting to feel as close to "normal" as possible. I take a lot of breaks though. I have company coming and no one is home today (including the in-laws. Thank God for small favors!)
I have been having a lot of back pain so I lay on a heating pad 2 times a day. I have a massage scheduled for Wednesday. Yippy! My DH arranged it for me, so I am thankful he is still being thoughtful and not get tired of me being laid up.

Ok, time to get back to cleaning. All of you have a great day!

It's a good day!!!

Well I also would hope I wouldn't pass internal stitches... I would begin to worry and probably sue the Dr.
I have not spotted at all since surgery, but I feel like I am ready to start my period any day now. So maybe I already passed my stitches and didn't notice or they are still coming. I am happy everyone has mentioned something about them otherwise I would freak out when I saw them.
Happy Birthday Doodlebug!!!!
It is time for another exciting football game! Three more to go and then Wrestling!
Go Cougars!!!!

Everybody remember... "Pamper the Princess!!!!" Take care all.

to Doodlebee

I think that you have a great day for a birthday. :

I used to think that everyone got the day off of school for my birthday rather than for Columbus day.

So my birthday wish is that we heal properly from this surgery and that we see the benifits of it for the years to come.

Happy Birthday to us.

What about HRT?

Hi, is there a discussion board here to discuss HRT alternatives? I don't want to clog this board if it's off topic. I just wondered how many of you are taking some form of hormones? I used to get DREADED hot flashes/night sweats, then they went away for some odd reason before surgery (like a month before surgery). After surgery, they did not return until a week ago, and the DREADED hot flahses/night sweats and extreme irritability has returned! Who wants to be on yet another drug and try to balance everything out which could take years. And I know everyone is different, etc. I think my doc mentioned using the Vivelle Dot patch, but didn't put me on it until I come in for my first postop which is Thursday to see if my hot flashes have returned. Since he removed one ovary, then maybe things are not working as they did pre-surgery (obviously) but you would think one good ovary would pump out some hormones, and I have no idea of the dosage. I guess my doc will have a clue, let's hope.

Please let me to the site to discuss this further. And thanks! I hope we get to lead normal lives one day. I feel very depressed and hopeless right now.

Hope everyone else is recoverying nicely

I'm on HRT but I did get both of my ovaries out. It's not balanced yet. I started on Premarin and it gave me headaches and still had lots of night sweats, but I was sleeping a bit better. I just switched to enjuvia and the headaches are gone for the most part but my sleep is not good and I'm still trying to figure it out. It very frustrating. Maybe the patch is a better option. I get less night sweats with enjuvia but its not perfect. I could need a higher dose. It's going to take me a good while to figure this one out. I could use more info on this topic as well. Thanks for bringing it up. Kathy

Both of my ovaries were removed. I've only had one occurrence of night sweats and some minor moody moments (I am knocking really hard on my desk!!). I am not on HRT because my endometriosis was really bad and my doctor wants to wait at least six months to prevent a recurrence.

I am 3 weeks and 5 days out tomorrow. The past couple of days have been pretty rough. I've felt really tired and sore. I'm also experiencing a lot of the "pulling and tugging" and some pain that resembles menstrual cramping. Thankfully, I have my sisters to compare notes with and know that all of this is pretty much "normal".

Reading that some of you are already back at work has me amazed and feeling like I might be lagging a bit. I was so sure that I would be back at work by now, but it's looking like it'll be at least another week if not the full six.

Well wishes to all of my sisters....
