Sorry, it is Plant Lady 58 with no AC. My apologies. I had no idea California was that hot and I have been there this time of year. You all can't get a break this year, fires, heat, etc.

Hey Ladies!
I am almost 3 weeks out of surgery and doing pretty good.
I am still crampy but not in the pain I was in with endometrosis. I am excited to think I can finally have a good life without so much pain! I want to thank everyone at this website. It is so wonderful to know there are others who can relate and help. So thanks so much!

hi,

here i am w/insomnia for the upteenth night in a row. most of the time i do fall asleep, but i dont stay asleep. Kimmiesue, i know what you mean about the pain of endo. that's what i needed my surgery for. glad to hear you are coming along well.

i definitely think i have some sort of infection going on. maybe a yeast infection or some other vaginal infection. i am going to call mr dr. first thing when they open about 8 hours from now. maybe that is why i have been so sick to my stomach the last few days and my incision is very tender. who knows. this is one crazy recovery. but looking toward the day when i'm pain free. when all of us are pain free !!!!

Side sleeping

Zappo-
I read one of your recent posts. In it you said you have some trouble still sleeping on your side even using pillows.

I used to work in a nursing home oh so long ago. That experience has come in handy for me after my TAH. I, too, am a side-sleeper and didn't sleep for more than two hours at a time the entire first week post-op.

I am now able to sleep almost through the night (bladder typically wakes me after six hours). I roll onto whichever side I choose and have someone put two queen pillows under my lower back/butt. I then put two regular pillows between my knees and one regular pillow under my belly/side that I am laying on. The part that is really the difference between pulling and not has to do with how I lay my legs. I have found that I must keep my legs bent or my incision will pull.

I hope this helps.

I am 18 days out from surgery and had no bleeding up until Friday. Now it is exactly the same amount of bleeding as when I had a period?? Anybody else having this problem. I hate to call my doctor if it is something common?

Thanks!

Hi,

I haven't had any bleeding so far either but my gyn said when the internal stitches started dissoving, I would bleed some. I had a TAH so I don't know if it would be different in your case or not.

Morning all! In response to your bleeding question, grt...I had my TAH on Aug. 17th, didn't have any bleeding or discharge for 1 week. Then I noticed when I coughed, sat, got up, etc...that I would have these little 'gushes', but enough to be similar to how my periods were. It started subsiding a little after a week and now I'm having more of a leaking brownish discharge...but enough to still wear a light pad. My dr. said it's normal to have it for a few weeks, but to watch for a bright red discharge or if it is more drainage that what my periods used to be, also a very foul smell. Some smell is possible because of the internal stitches disolving. Hope this helps, but if you feel something is not right, call your dr. that's what they are they for.

I spotted a little after the first couple of days home and then around my 11th day I started bleeding bright red and cramping. I called the doctors office, and they said that bleeding is normal. I actually had to go out and buy some overnight pads!!!! (Cruel joke!) I am still bleeding and it's been 22 days out for me although it is starting to subside. I go back to my doctors on the 12th, so hopefully that will be the end of all of this!!!
