I am 5 days Post Op
As I read through these threads I can see myself just days and weeks ago! I had my TAH/BSO last Wednesday, 2/20. Today I was outside looking at the little green things starting to pop through the ground....walking, walking and more walking. I have the strength to do these short walks and then I rest. The walks involve no pain, other than gas.
The incision site is pain free. When I turn over during the night, I may feel a slight pull in my muscles, but I turn very slowly as to not pull if possible.
I have an approx. 7" incision across the hairline and my doctor stitched the inside and "glued" the outside. Every nurse complimented the incision and said my doc did the best stitching of anyone.
There is no way I can tell anyone not to get too upset about the Castle Visit. I did and I know some of you will. Take to heart what you read here and know that many people have a very successful castle visit and are very comfy afterward!!!

WOW Reba
Sounds like you are doing great, I too had a TAH/BSO; except mine was almost 15 months ago now. I feel GREAT, remember just cause you are feeling good and all , be CAREFULL not to OVERDO it girl. You wouldn't want a set back.
Take care
Kathy

Reba,
What a great post! Just remember to take it easy, despite how good you feel. You have a lot of healing going on inside, even though you have a gorgeous incision
Thanks for encouraging the other ladies-in-waiting!

All of us are reading eventhough we do not reply. Great to hear you made it through surgery and arrived home in one piece. Just had to say how inspired I am that your experience is positive so far. Keep posting...we are reading
Thanks,

I have 2 Hystersister goals for me next week - #one is to figure out how to get into the chat rooms - although maybe after the castle, my brain fog will be clearer and #2) is to make a sign for my self that reads WERD...no not b/c I am so weird, but as a reminder to myself that when I come home I want to:
-walk
-eat healthy foods
-rest alot, and then rest somemore
-drink, drink, drink
and maybe, just maybe, I will add an "i" for my internet connection to all of my hystersisters, as a reminder that I must WERD in order to feel well enough, asap, to get on the internet with my hystersisters - I will dearly miss you all (and myself) until I am back on line -
thank you for the words of "survival" they really do mean alot - be well, and don't forget to WERD...wishing you all Love, Luck and Laughter, Lynda
