Upcoming hysterectomy 11/6: Terrified about surgery

In my opinion, the pre-op anxiety was MUCH worse than the pain after surgery. I had LAVH on October 6th, plus fibroid tumor and tubes -- the pain was about the same as a super bad period or miscarriage, except there was an entire hospital staff at my beck and call to keep me comfortable!

I wished I'd had anti-anxiety meds for pre-op. I was a mess, and drove my family crazy the 3 days before surgery. The morning of surgery I was ready to bolt from the room, like seriously considering it. My older sister was with me, recognized my panic, and suggested to the staff that I get something to calm me the eff down. Worked great, and I woke up feeling so glad I did the surgery.
