periode before surgery

I was just wondering if anyone knew if it's fine to have your periode when you go in for surgery. I go in to have my left ovary and tube removed and to see what else is wrong. I should be starting my periode today or tomorrow and i wonder if it's going to interfer. Has anyone else had this problem?

I actually started the day of my surgery. It made no difference at all they continued with the surgery.

There's no problem. I had mine at the time of surgery.

I am scheduled for a TAH/BSO on May 10 and I will probably have my period on May 9. My doctor told me it would make no difference but, I would suggest you call and ask your doctor, just to be sure. You don't need any surprises when you arrive at the castle. The best to you for a speedy recovery.

*Usually* it doesn't matter at all.

It might matter if you were having trouble with anemia.

My dr said it wouldn't be a problem .... I was expecting my last period a day or so before surgery, but it didn't even show up!!! Guess I was too stressed or something...


Anyway, why not just call your own dr and double check, just for your peace of mind.
