Hello ladies,
Just checking in. I am still tired all the time. It seems to be getting worse each day and I don't understand it. I am taking vitamin E for my sites and I take one orally every day. I am supposed to be taking slow FE for Iron, but I have enough bowel trouble.
I guess I will go walking again today. I try and walk every day or every other day no matter what the heat advisory says. It makes me feel better and helps with the bowels instead of just sitting here all day. I still don't sweat like I should be with walking in this heat.

MoeJoe,
I think that I had a yeast infection prior and during the surgery. When I first saw my surgeon and gave him a list of my symptoms (type up) he disregarded the vaginal itching. I was just thinking it was hormonal and do to lack of moisture. Anyway, last week after I called his office phoned Walgreen's and gave me 2 diflucan's. I took one last wed and the other one on Mon. I have stopped itching. Also, they put an anti-biotic in my IV during surgery. I have one more post op, that is free and I want to make sure tha I have no remaining infections or anything. I am going in there with a grocery list....

Uti

hi phillipians...
you asked how i knew i might have UTI...

well, i knew that after surgery, that going... for lack of a better word... pee... would be different, and sore, etc,.etc..
somedays, it was really sore, and had the cramping before and after.

this past sunday, i noticed pinkish on the tp... so i thought.. hmm.. is that THAT? or was that from stitches coming from vagina?

other friends also wondered why i was still so sore, and couldnt laugh yet... saying their mother, or aunt, or whoever werent like that after weeks.. well for one thing everyone is different, and i had everything out, and i am sure they could have been digging around to see if there was more cancer lurking...

anyways, just had a suspicion, knowing it can happen if u had a cathetor too... so yah.

now i am on antibiotics... i think they are giving me a headache though... havent really had headaches since surgery, used to have them alot beforehand.. prolly from stress and hormones...

been really tired lately too... more so... than before, falling asleep earlier... i stay up late usually...

Hi Debbiefej -

We are somewhat close - I am 43. Seems we have a lot in common. Where do you live? I am right outside of Philadelphia, PA.

I am 43 as well Had a vag hyster. He took the uterus and cervix, left the ovaries and tubes. Had it done on the 13th.
I live in Green Bay, WI.
It is beautiful today...so I am sitting on the patio sorting through recipes and recipe books to give away. I did not sleep more than 3 hours last night due to the insomnia

Simplyme - I hear Wisconsin is beautiful! Are you a foodie? (someone who loves to cook and experiment?) I love to cook when I have the chance but I confess to having a limited palate - I am picky.

I will be back on later - I am going to my 2nd post-op appt. Hopefully he will give the go ahead to drive.

Ladies,

Just had the "Big O" or should I say the "little O" (less intensity). Curiousity got the best of me and I wanted to know. Tomorrow will be 4 weeks for me. At least I know it still works. Just on a smaller scale.

Checking in

Hi everyone, this is the first time I have sent a message following all of your messages has really helped me these past four weeks. I had total laparoscopic hysterectomy July 16. I am still very sore with some bleeding today. Is this normal? Other than feelings of sharp abdominal pains I feel pretty good. My first Dr. appt. is tomorrow, I will let you know how it went. Has anyone else noticed that others just don't understand why you still can't get around as easily. I start back to work Monday and I don't feel ready.

Hey KTucker, I can understand you not feeling ready to go back to work. I had LSH (kept ovaries and cervix) Everything was removed through the little incisions in my tummy. When you say Total Lap, does that mean they took everything laparoscopically (ovaries, cervix too)? Guess I'm not too good with the names of these procedures. I just get a sense that the more they have to do to you,,,the longer it takes to heal.....
Anyway, Yes you should be tired. It wasn't that long ago and lap or not your body has been through trauma and it needs time to heal. The hardest part is that you probably look great and people all assume you are fine.
My one friend (sort of) heard I was having a hyst. and so OH my Gosh! then when I mentioned Laparoscopic she said....OH....that's no biggie (with this tone of disinterest in her voice....) I remember thinking ok you go and have an organ removed and see how easy it is!! Sorry, I guess it's still bothering me! Any chance you can get a little more time off or maybe go back half days for a week? You deserve every bit of rest your body is asking for... Hope you feel better! Go put your feet up!
