I didn't want to go in today because my doctor is on vacation and we have such a busy day. If I was in pain during the day too I would go in.
I don't have pain when I urinate, that is why I think I can wait until Monday.

Hope the rest of your recovery is going nicely.
Did you go back to work yet?
No I haven't gone back to work yet. I teach outreach programs for a hospital. I do not go back until the 21st. Even at that, I only teach for 3 hours(Lamaze class) and then don't teach again until the following Tuesday. I am VERY parttime!!!!
I go to the Dr. today for my 4 week check.

Thank you all for your reply. The support really helps.

My Dr. appt. went well. He did say I need to walk more. I am going to attempt work Monday and then consider 1/2 day for the week. Once school starts it is off and running.

What is the concensus (spelling?) out there on hormone therapy? How are others handling hot flashes? When do they usually start? are hot flashes and insomnia the only two physical symptoms? (Bad as they are). I have not started any symptoms at this time do I need HRT? At my Dr. appt. we agreed not to start any at this time until symptoms get the best of me. But my concern is I am 37 in menapause (with no horrible symptoms at this time). I must say prior my surgery I had night sweats terribly. Those have gotten better but again it is only 4 weeks out. Any comments?

ktucker88 - sorry i can't help with your excellent questions re HRT as i was already past menopause when i went to the castle. For lots of answers it might even be good to post a new post op question re: HRT and your age. I bet a lot of people would write in for you and not just from this thread.

Good luck! Too bad you don't live by me in Minnesota: I'd get you out there for a little walking w/me. Take care. Heal well.

I had a TAH/LSO and removal of my cyst covered right fallopian tube. Doctor thought the right ovary was really healthy and left it so that I could go through a natural menopause. I have not experienced any spotting, discharge or bleeding at all. I was hemorraging as I entered the operating suite a little over 4 weeks ago so I think God blessed me.

At my 2nd post-op on Weds., the doctor did an internal and said he was really happy with the way I have healed and doesn't need to see me for 6 months. He told me that I have no restrictions - I can drive, have sex... I think he knows me well enough to expect me to use common sense. I have been going to him for 25 years and he delivered my eldest son.

I think doctors want to be sure that the cuff has completely healed before a patient returns to having sexual relations so I am not sure why your doctor would advise you to wait. You could always call and inquire - I am sure he or she has heard this question many times.

How long is your incision and does it still get sore at times? I find when I really swell up, it tends to be a little more tender the next day.

I am scheduled to go back to work on the 27th of August and don't have a clue of what to expect of myself physically. I probably will be exhausted but fortunately I have a really good supervisor who will probably tell me to go home when I need to.

Relief,
I also did it on wednesday (TMI) alone in the shower. Curiosity got the best of me. I still works, just less intensity.
Glad it works for you, girl.

My incision is from just under belly button to just above pubic bone ~ I think they said I had 30 staples(5inches long)...my incision healed very quick and never did seep..I could shower day one home and didn't need to cover it from day one also...I was very fortunate to only have swelly belly maybe the first week, in fact I went in to get my staples out that 2nd week in my regular jean shorts, I was tiny going into this and tinnier coming out! All my size 3/4's are slipping off, I was under my ideal weight going in and not quite back up to it yet so...in fact even my swim suit bottoms are too big now grrrr...and that's my main source of apparel these days LOL, also what little boobs I had are even less too..I was only a 34A to begin with so now in braless mode too hmmmm??? So I guess cause I don't have swelly belly issues maybe that's why my incision doesn't get sore...yesterday when dr. did internal he said he was feeling to make sure the incision was healed the whole l way thru outter and inner...said sometimes deep inside there can get pockets that aren't healed all the way thru...said mine was OK! He just said everything was healed and didn't specifically mention the vag.cuff!
