I too seemed to have picked up a cold bug. Wasn't too bad until I started the violent sneezing! I can feel it pull every time. My family finally gave up blessing me, because it was so constant! Went to Walgreens and asked the pharmacist what I could take becasue I have to stop, and got good meds. Nose is clearing up and only a few sneezes here and there. But now I can't sleep! Luckily, I don't go back to work until Monday, but didn't want to spend my last week home laid up with this either!

Good morning all,

Just checking in again to see how everyone is doing. I can't sleep as I was at the orthodontist today and she twisted my upper wire to tweak my left canine's position and I am sore. My next appointment is my final adjustment and hopefully, the dentist will be satisfied to schedule the removal of my braces at that time. I am glad I went through this but I am so mentally done - I didn't need braces as a kid or so said the family dentist when I was younger - my siblings all had them. I don't know - my ortho said that judging by my teeth today - she would have put braces on back when I was a teen.

Good luck to all the sisiters back at work as I will soon be joining you in the work force. I asked my DH to take off today because I want to give the house a good once over before I head back to work. He has plenty of vacation time and I am not putting this house back in order by myself!

Simplyme - we are doing the college tour bit also with my youngest. He interviewed on Monday at a college a little past Lancaster, PA ( a little less than 2 hours from home). I love the area and he said he felt very welcomed at the school. He is very particular and if he liked it - that is saying a lot. I am glad that I ask my middle son to go with us - I drove up but was so tired by the afternoon, I asked him to drive home.

Well, I am going to try and go back to sleep now that the Tylenol seems to be taking affect. I hope everyone has a good Wednesday.

Wendy -
Good luck with your surgery. I had chronic ear infections as a kid and have scarring from it so I am glad that they can do something for you that will give you some relief. (I occasionally get a twinge in my ear when I have a cold and boy, the feeling of that pain comes back to haunt!)

hey guys haven't been on in awhile. Been sick...thought I was just crazy for a day or so...tired all the time again and such but then got a fever that bounced between 102 and 103.5 went to the dr and she said I had a raging infection...many antibiotics later I am much better...I was told not to return to work till 30th because my incision is not healing like it is supposed to...kept opening up...kind of weird looking one side is healed nicely and the other is still open. Anyway it is good that most of you are almost back up to speed...and "I feel your pain" to those who are not.

Good EARLY morning girls!

Yikes, got up at 5:25am to get dd to shower...mornings have to run like clockwork cause basically 3 (soon to be 4 with me) all need the same hour to shower and get ready to leave out the door at same time...hectic!

Dh and dd had it out last night so this next 1/2 hour will prove interesting...I predict days on end of silent treatment...slamming doors...dirty looks...etc...he gave her a piece of his mind regarding his feelings about boyfriend (irresponsible)...and she fired right back...! I hate when anyone has to leave for the day mad!

Teens ~ Dh's..................GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

On a lighter note, they had a great 1st day back to school, got good classes, good teachers, happy as can be expected!

Well I'll probably check back in after everyone is gone!

Anyone going to be around today?????

Everyone take care today

I go back to work in about a half hour after a very long summer of waiting to go IN the castle and recuperating OUTSIDE of the castle. Today it's six weeks and two days post op. I still have a knotty feeling on my right abdominal wall and a twinge or two and a feeling of extreme exhaustion and fear my brain is still out of order but OFF I GO. Good luck to me and happy healing to all the other sisters on this thread today. E.

I am wiped out after ninth grade orientation last night. My daughter has a hidden learning disability and i don't know if to let the school know or not. I think I will but their website is horrible and one can't figure out how to email anyone and they didn't remember to tell us last night and oy oy. My DD is practicing her schedule and trying to figure out the hallways and levels of the building and then the first day they might hand her a completely new schedule. That will not help her. I listen to her talk to her friends about all the fears and being lost and there isn't much i can do but maybe it's okay to give the head counselor a heads up bec. they kept stressing it at the mtg. 1,300 kids in a big building from 14-18 years of age. Sigh.

Off I go to work very soon. VERY soon. In about a half hour I'm leaving. I'm trying to post between gulps of cereal/fruit. The breakfast they give us our first day back is all sweets, which are not very good for my body. And the temp is about 65 degrees inside our college buildings, so i kind of look like i'm going trekking in the winter even though it's summer!

The whole rest of the week will be a blur: today, work. Tomorrow State Fair and I try to leave at 7:30 a.m. and don't return until late. Friday work all day again. Then get granddaughter for the weekend. State Fair again so granddaughter can see bunnies (they only come the first weekend)... and buy groceries for a WEEK so we are stocked while I work and drive teen around and around and etc etc ya get the picture. So I think my life of convalescing and being a 'princess' are 100% gone now.

I will try to post when i can; missing you all and thinking of you all.

Oh last nite sitting in the h.s. auditorium seats from 7-8:20 my stomach knot, that one knot that bugs me in the upper right quadrant, it made me uncomfortable again so i was sliding down waaaaay down in my seat. Just like a bored teen. I left during the Q & A session. It was getting too long.

CHEERS to you all and HAPPY HEALING and THANKS FOR THE FRIENDSHIP as we went in and out of the castle.

Good Wednesday to all

Boy, we all have something or two in common on this site.
Reading all the posts, I almost feel as if I know each and everyone of you. I do belong to other groups via internet, I am a foster home for 2 nationwide Cairn terrier groups, but this one that has given me not only strength but also the support i needed and still need!

E-I would let the school counselor know. We went through the same situation with my daughter. Now she is contemplating college, and it scares me. I know that it will all work out, I can not take care of everything for her forever. My son breezed through HS. National Honor Society, Straight A student, in the fall of his Senior year, when he was a great canidate for an all state football player and colleges were looking at him... his dreams were crushed when he ruptured his ACL in a playoff game. He had the GB Packer orthopedic surgeon do his surgery. He told my DS, this is the year you were to shine. My DS looked at him and said, I am still walking. I was able to get up off of the field. There are some players that do not. It taught all of us a valuable lesson.
I have thought about how he had overcome his surgery and went on to play college ball at a smaller school. When he came to the castle to see me, I told him that I felt my surgery was a piece of cake compared to what he went through. I still think that.
When his Freshman year in college was done, he went to get evaluated for ADHD. After going through HS and being a very focused student, he was diagnosed with severe ADHD. Later in the same year, my daughter was having alot of difficulty in her classes as a sophmore in HS. We had her re-evaluated(she was tested at age 8 for ADD/LD) and she also has ADD and they were suprised at how well she coped with her LD for so long.
They have both gotten the help they needed, and do not like the fact that they are different, but have learned to cope with it.
There is help for the ones that ask for it. Your daughter also has to want the help. That can sometimes be difficult for fear they will be ridiculed by their peers.

Most of my days are filled with feeling good. i still get twinges and also the gas pains. The gas pains are always on my sides. Almost feels like side aches. Laying on my stomach helps with that. A wise RN, a mentor for me, told me when our patients that have had c-sections have gas in the hospital, we get them to lay on their stomachs to dispurse the gas. the problem is with that, is getting them back on their backs when they are done. For us, if we are out shopping or at work and have those gas pains, we cannot just lay on our stomachs!!!

It really felt good to get back to work last night. I love my job. I wish I would have practiced a bit more of what I preach tho.

Have a great day ladies
Thanks for listening!

Does anyone still feel a sharp pain when they sneeze sometimes?

I have my 6 week check-up tomorrow.

I also have insomnia now, I thinks its because the night sweats and mild hot flases have started.

I had a TAH BSO on July 10, has anyone returned to work after week 6 or is it usually 8 weeks? I definitlely do not feel ready to return to work especially now that I am not getting any sleep.

Any suggestions?
