Wow did I need that little nap. DH wants me to work on getting caught up with lost sleep this wk. So I'am going to enjoy this lazy wk. First in about three wks.

quiet time

My quiet or rest time will not come until the first week of Sept. and I am looking forward to it. I can't take naps. Even when I had my surgery, I only napped the first day afterwards and that was because I was still in the hospital. I would rest however by putting my feet up often.

looking forward to it!

I Miss My Brain!

Well, ladies...I went outside today and sat on the swing working on laptop while DS played on his swingset. He had a blast, but when we came back in I thought, "Ew! I must have sweated more than I thought..."

A second later, a light bulb went off in my head--I forgot to put deodorant on today!

Call the loony in now.

I didn't nap today but I sure am tired and sore. Just when I'd had a few good days and felt "normal", too. Today I did a load of laundry, then put some weather-protectant goop on two lawn chairs...no heavy lifting involved. I walked 10 minutes to the store to get some pictures developed and 10 minutes back, then after lunch I spent maybe ten minutes ironing. This hardly compares with a day at the state fair or emptying and cleaning a bedroom, but I'm achey and I'm tired. Sigh. I'm planning to return to work on Wednesday but I gotta wonder if I'm up to it. Still, this three steps forward, one step back is an improvement over 2 forward, 1 back. Slowly but surely we'll all get better.

Oh picked up Little DD from school today and she is sick as a dog 103.2 fever and little puss pockets on the back of her throat! Dr's apt at 900am tommorow. Poor thing sick on her first day of school. Now I hope this stays with her and doesn't spread thru all of us. Our family has been quite sick over this summer!

Byfaith: yes, that was some storm. Hard enough to get sleep without Mother Nature blasting us out here in the Twin Cities area.

Well, ladies, I made it thru my first day of school. Owie, owie, owie. I had to walk up a LOT of stairs as the elevators barely have room even for wheelchairs. Thus, my knot is as twisty sore as ever in my abdomen. I also got some gassy pains after lunch that were hard to 'deal' with. And I'm tired, VERY tired. I hope I made sense to all the students all day.

I am happy to be home. And hey, byfaith, it looks like more bumpy weather is coming this way tonite, so be prepared. I didn't lose any lights, but the storm did take out the internet. Guess that power strip saved my computer. All other lights were 'on' the strip, but not the internet. Interesting. I'd hate to lose my connection w/you all.

Yes, seven weeks ago today I was in the hospital room doubled up in pain. Thus, I've come a long way. I know I'm not 'cured' yet, though! Nope. Not by a long shot. I pulled a lot of doors, walked as already mentioned, a lot of stairwells back and forth to rooms, tried not to move too many desks and chairs in rooms.......oy oy OWIE oy. I was good to drink water and eat a healthy lunch (sandwich/carrots/water)..............

Take care everyone. I am looking forward to getting a 'pass go' ticket from my OB/surgeon Friday. We shall see.

I'm home, I survived, my knot in my side/abdomen is tied up in more of a knot and owie it feels SO uncomfortable....pulled on a lot of doors, walked too many stairs and tried not to move too many desks. What a day. I'm so tired. I just am not myself. It's nice some students came to say they'd heard I had surgery, were hoping I was okay. One student compared her fibroid surgery to mine (poor thing....she still has a lot of trouble/still has her uterus as she is young and they wanted to try and spare it for now).... so it's been a long, interesting day. It's hard to teach so early and then have a class so late M/W but it's okay. I'm learning a lot, too.

I'm off to rest/eat/'chill' and wait for DD1 and DD2 to check in plus little granddaughter. I see lots of hangups on the caller ID but I'm too exhausted to check them all out.

Bye for now....................tomorrow it's back to school again. At least I can leave earlier than 4:30. I need to 'chill' and think!! No late meetings this Tuesday. Not always the case, but at least tomorrow it is.
