Wow, all this talk about IBS makes me wonder. I first received a C.T. Scan and I was told there was some thickening in a few areas that's why I have to get this colonoscopy. Hmmmmm maybe IBS I have never had any trouble before...why now

Congrats E on your post op appointment. I totally understand about this on going pain pricks and stabs. Sometimes when I go to bed at night I lay there and pretend I am laying in a cloud with no pain...just floating.

I know this is kind of a wierd question but does anyone feel bursts of depression? Seems like lately I have been feeling strange. I thought I would be done with all this testing and stuff here I am I can't really go back to work in this condition due to how we need to act...full of energy, smiley face, super positive and on your feet the whole day. I am actually thinking about quitting and looking for something else so I can get to my sons football games. He is a 10th grader and is on JV. Yesterday he played JV and today HE PLAYED VARSITY!!!! He is so happy that they played him for two straight quarters!! They won the first game of the year! O.K. now I am happy

ByFaith, That's great news on your son. What kind of work do you do?

That's not a weird question. It's common for us to get depressed. Especially when our body throws us a curve. Reading everyone's posts, I've felt like the oddball because I haven't cried over my uterus. And I haven't had the mood swings (Confirmed that with DH.) The closest I have come to crying was the week my bp started spasing. Funny thing is, I fought depression almost all my life. You'd think I'd have cried a bucket of tears by now. But I'll bet every one here will tell you they cried at least once. Our hormones not only control us physically, but emotionaly, too. If it is interfereing with yur life, you need to talk to your dr. After you get back on an even keel, then look at your job, and decide if you want to stay.

Good for your son!!! How exciting! I go to the HS footbal games all the time. My daughter is on the dance team, my husband is a JV football coach and my son is a junior in college. played HS ball. Tore his ACL the last game before playoffs. He had surgery, recovered and then played 1 year in college. Reinjured it, and separated his shoulder two times. Now he just goes to watch his friends play. He does play rec ball to stay in shape but has given up on competitive ball.

I wish your DS the best of luck! It is a fun ride for all!

Response To Tubes

Someone asked about the tubes. I kept both ovaries, but one tube was removed because of severe endo. Hope that answers your question.
Bye,

crossroads simplyme

Thank you for the support. Yes, we are very proud of our son. He worked hard to get where he is at. He got up all summer at 7am to weight lift through a school program. He did it last year too. He was on cloud 9 last night. Wow simplyme you had a great ride with your son too. This is my second time around and sadly he is my last child.

I am a customer service manager at a large salon. I have been thinking about it even before I had surgery. I know if I stay I will miss games and being with family in the evening. As you sisters know your prioritys change. I never felt this job was forever. I am the oldest person working there though. High fashion, high maintenance, somethimes I think it would be nice not to spend so much time getting ready to be that perfect impression as guests come in. It's lots of pressure too.

Seems like I am in less pain so I think the antibiotics may have done the trick. Maybe I could ditch out of my colonoscopy??? The prep in a bummer

Well tomorrow my family and I will be meeting the future inlaws. Ive already met the mom a couple of times and she is very nice down to earth type of person. They are having a big family outing Sunday and we are invited. So i'm making my special chicken wings it's and old family recipe. Going back about 5-6 generations a gramma back then was a pure indian. So to me it is very very special. And of course my daughter who will be the one getting married hates it. ha ha. But her fiance loves it and the rest of my family loves it to. My mom always says don't go to anybody's house empty handed. So i will bring some food and some flowers. Anybody have a good advice?

Ugh-got the flu last week...

Hi ladies,
I've only posted twice, once with the same knot as Ele and another with the pain and swelly belly still going on (same as everyone else, I've learned). I went back to school three weeks ago (teach high school) and of course, was exhausted, a bit painful, but I thought I was on the real road to recovery when I contracted the flu at the end of last week. I've been coughing constantly for about a week, sometimes it feels like I can cough my lungs right out of my throat! My doc prescribed z-pak yesterday but I am still coughing. The sad part is now it seems like my progress relapsed a couple of weeks, the soreness is back and so is the knot below my left breast. I don't think it has to do with my bowels either because I have a bm twice a day! Has anyone had a cold or flu so soon after their surgery? Please let me know how it affected you. Thank you all ladies. Even though I don't post, I read this daily. You have helped me tremendously just knowing that what i am feeling is not odd or weird.

My little,
I have more sinus problems than usual since my surgery. I think it came from the cold a** hospital room. So I have been battling that. Went to the primary and she gave me some patanol which I haven't filled yet. $40 copay. OUCH! It seems to be getting better. Sorry, u feel down. One of the other sister's on the site I keep in touch with had the flu about 3 wks after surgery and went to the dr. She is a nurse. She was worried about a hernia from all the coughing, but she is alright. She said it just took longer than usual from the flu. Please don't be shy and post anytime you need to.

Deb,
I don't know if it was a typo or not. But you are 7 wks, post op, not 6. I had my surgery a day before you.

Tubes:
Can't remember who asked, but I think they came remove ovaries and keep the tubes, but can't take tubes and keep ovaries. Look at your path report, it should say.

Ele,
Again, you are tiny. Nice job losing the 2 lbs. I lost 8lbs since surgery, but this is my natural weight anyway. I was bloated with the fluid and stuff going on in there. So basically, I haven't lost any real weight. I want to lose 3-4 inches around the belly, of course.

Byfaith,
I know that you are proud of your son and he has a caring mother. If you need to change you job, do so. It is a shame to go through all we have been through and don't have any life changing attitude. I have changed myself. I stopped crying. I was crying/angry/moody, etc before the surgery. I stopped drinking caffeinated drinks, changed my radio station (still haven't figured that one out yet) and drink a lot of water. God knows your heart, just keep your faith and continue to pray. You will be fine.

Don't remember who asked:
Acidoliphus tablets are in the vitamin section. They supposed to be good for people with IBS. The help the digestive system. I haven't gotten any in years because I had the adhesions removed. Need to buy some myself. Too cheap. I have been spending so much on drs., surgery, drugs that I just need a break.

I think this site might close tomorrow instead on Monday. They had me do a survey when I got just now. Also, they are letting us talk about anything lately. I love the 80s. We will have to talk more about that when we go in the other thread.
