Well girls, it's been a year and a day. I don't feel as good as I did before the surgery, but I don't feel as bad as I have since the surgery. So I guess that's a plus. Could someone remind me WHY I did this again? Oh well, when I look back, I'd still do it. Last week I went to the dentist. After the x-rays, he came in, picked at my teeth, and said we'll bring you back and take care of a couple of the small cavities then you are going to have some decisions to make. "You are going to have some decisions to make!?!?" That's the same thing my GYN told me! I don't have a good feeling about this!

Thumbs up - Hysterectomy dates Jul 09-Jul 16,2007 Happy Hysterversary!!!

Hi everyone! Oh, it so nice to check in and see all of these familiar names. I cant believe its been a year. Its a bittersweet feeling isnt? Gosh, one year ago right around this time we were barely walking! Praise God we are all doing okay! I'm sad that I havent checked in in a while. I havent been receiving update notifications in my email so I thought nobody was posting. Tonite I got a notification and I was so excited to check in Crossroads, I hope your dental work wont be too bad. I hate dental visits! But look at it this way, after all we've gone through, we can do anything right?

As for me, I have been feeling pretty good! Yeah! I decided to "up" my dosage on my hormone patch and that seems to have made the difference. Although I am still gaining weight. My 10's are tight too and the 12's are feeling good again. I joined weight watchers and I am hoping to start walking to see if I can drop some pounds. My biggest complaint one year later is the BELLY!! But truly, I am so thankful to be okay and able to get on with my life.

Jennice!!! How are you girl? Did you get the cat scan done yet for the bloating? I am bloating a little less since I increased the dosage on my patch. It has helped me tremendously. Jenn, i cant believe its been a year. If I close my eyes I can see myself with the step stool next to the bed, my robe and favorite pajamas, this website, this forum, and pampering the princess. I remember how hard it was to get in and out of bed. Wow! that was already one year ago. Thank God for helping us get to where we are now! Check in soon! Love ya!

Presouz, so good to hear from you!!!! I started taking the vitamin b. Does your mom take a multivitamin in addition to the B also? That's what I'm doing, but I hope its not too much. My bloating is a tad less since I increased the patch, but I still feel huge!

Simplyme, sometimes I get pain on my left side at night when I'm lying down. I wonder all the time what that might be since I had everything taken out. I know that they had to do alot work to get the endo out on the left side, maybe its just more sensitive there? who knows?

Hi Belle in Australia!

Ashleyluz, I too was filled with emotion on July 9th. I seemed to be able to relive most of that experience. I'm so happy to hear that you are well

Hi Byfaith! Short term memory........I can't remember whether or not I have taken my vitamins so now I have these little plastic containers like my parents have (LOL< I feel like an old lady when I use it) that have each day labeled for me and thats how i keep track of my vitamins! I forget alot of things now.

Hi sisters!

Happy Hysterversary Everyone!

I had my one year check up complete with pap smear, which I find so uneccesary as I do not have a cervix but I guess the doc needs something to bill for right?

I haven't been able to go the HRT route as I have Hx of Breast Cancer in my family but Estroven and OTC cream seems to help and boy do I notice a difference if I miss a day! And if I want an instant hot flash I just have some caffeine or alcohol. Whoopee!

Getting good sleep was rough the first six months but that has improved a bit. Maintaining a healthy diet, regular exercise, yoga, Tai Chi, Reiki, meditation, all that new agey stuff really helps when I am discliplined enough to do it.

Because I had endmetriosis, I had adhesions and got even more after the surgery so I have quite a bit of pain associated with that but the surgeon does not recommend more surgery. Just pain management. I have a referral for that...If all that involves is and Rx for pain pills then it will not be very helpful to me. We'll see bout that.

I have learned so much from all the women here. Mostly to persevere. To be prepared. To get your questions answered. To be your own best advocate. This is a loving, supportive group of women who really cheer eachother on and encourage eachother to "Pamper the Princess." It is good to be reminded of that.

Wishing you all the best and hope to see you round these parts this time next year!

Jennie

Glad to hear from everyone! I can commiserate with the belly issue. My belly seems to have fallen some and is round and blubbery. I've been regularly exercising since Feb 1 - but I guess I need to eat less as well.

I've had some bladder issues as my belly has "fallen" and I believe things have rearranged inside in a non-optimum arrangement - if you know what I mean... The bladder issue is the only bad side-effect I've had.

I would love to take the summer off again....

I really want to get caught up on everyone... Phil... I think she is taking a multi vitamin too, she lives in Texas and I in California. she has so many health issues, man its hell getting old!! Wish I had the stamina and the room to have her here with me, but I cant and dont. I too have to use those vitamin pill cases or I forget to take them, getting old sucks!

I had to stop taking my HIGH dose of vitamni D its 500000 IU once a week, it started to give me head aches ear aches and head aches, stiff neck and skull .. so I say. Felt like I had the MUMPS!! But the doctors tell me no its a sinus head my glands are all swollen, been 6 weeks cant shake it have to use ice on my neck and ears and quit taking my the vitamin D for now and stopped taking my alli and the pain is slowing going away, maybe I will test it next week once I am feeling better to see if the pain starts again... I hope its not the VIT D or the alli.. so good to see everyone.. I have had other issues come up with my thryoid and dealing with that all the hormones that could have been but were not may have messed it up for good.. ok nuff *****ing I am still happy I had my surgery, just wish I could get rid of the itchy ears! !! had them for 3 years on and off cant get rid of them UGH!! finally found baby oil dabbing a little bit on the inside helps for a few hour then back for more.

Its so late I need to get to bed.. wish you all a great evening and sleep!!!
Talk soon Presouz

Presouz, have you ever gone to an ear, nose, and throat specialist for the ears itching--or it could be an allergy...I know, let's play guess the specialty. (Fun times!)

Having surgery last summer has given me the courage to transfer to teaching completely online. Now I'm just searching for more schools to work for--it's hard when I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere--whee! But I am searching fast and furious to get all of our bases covered better this next school year.

I also finished my masters work this summer and have been taking some training classes using our Apple computers at school. I think I like this summer better than the last!!

All in all, life is pretty good. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia after the surgery, and I'm in the process of switching medications to help alleviate some symptoms. The original meds didn't help like the drs. thought. There is hope though, right?

I'm glad to hear everyone else is doing so well!

knittinmanatee thanks for the reply, yes I have been to an ENT just this month but he didnt give me any answers!! Put me on Naproxen and Musinex D come back in 2 months..

I did get a LOT OF tests for my neck pain ear pain sore throat pain with no sign of redness... so my itchy ears were on the bottom of their list. I had a horrible flu that based in my neck for over 2 months now, or now doing deeper research I think it is some type of thyroiditis, sounds painful, like I have.. Not sure I didnt go to my endrogran doctor cuz I didnt relate my problems with my thyroid at the time I was having awful stiff neck and ear pain... long long story, CT scans of sinus, neck, and swallow tests...lots of money later, still no answers, but I am feeling 60% better so hopefully, will be be 100% soon.

Sorry to hear about your fibromyalgia !! I hear its NO FUN!! FEEL BETTER!! I hope your Rx's work for you.

Congrats on your Masters work, you are a go getter!! I feel so lazy all I do is sit in my desk chair and work, boring! Dont feel like even sitting in the sun or taking a drive in with my top down on the car, I used to love all of that... I am in a funk!!! anyone else???

BUT happy I had surgery the years of pain down there are all gone!! I think I have my HRT right.. not sure.. things can change any time..

Look forward to seeing more of all of you.. Happy Anniversary Sisters!!
