Happy Saturday ladies! Although this sounds a little selfish, I'm having a hard time adjusting to DH and DS's being around all day... guess I've gotten use to the quiet time alone during the week. They are all going to the movies this afternoon, so I'll have some quiet time then. Would actually love to go with them, but don't think I can sit long enough to do a movie yet. If it weren't for the posterior repair, I would give it a try. That seems to be my remaining pain issue. My doctor said the repair part of the surgery would be worse than the hysterectomy... it's just that the rest of me feels so good I want to get up and get going! It's like my mind and energy level are better, but the ol' body hasn't quite caught up yet!! GRRR....

Hope you are all having a good and painfree day!

strange scar?

Day 10 from LSH and doing great I think. Been up walking a little every day and out to eat a few times. No potty issues and no real pain. But took the bandages off today in shower and found an indention at one of my small incisions. When standing it curves in alot? Should I be concerned? I do still have a little bit of swelling but not much. Help! I want the stomach I had before plus the small scars, those I can deal with. Any one else have this?

It hurts to stay down!

Good day, Ladies!

I spent three hours sitting in my classroom reading and preparing things yesterday then went to a 2-hour concert in the evening. It's really uncomfortable to sit for too long so I took lots of stand-up breaks. I was afraid I would be in a lot of pain when I woke up this morning and I was! But then I got out of bed and felt so much better. My body seems to be adjusting to not spending 18 hours on my back each day and prefers standing and sitting with frequent breaks.
I also got my swelly belly band today and it really does feel good. I'm going to a wedding so I can't exactly wear it there but I'm going to put it in a cooler and use it for the trip there and back.
Mentally I seem to have things mostly together but physically I'm a long way from recovered! I was watching young people (okay, people my age who haven't had surgery ) at the concert and they were boppin' around everywhere. I felt like a tortoise surrounded by hares! And don't underestimate how many careless elbows there are out in the big wide world. I felt like I needed an umpire's suit to protect my ledge.
Lovely Saturday,

Wow, hurrydog, 3 hs at work? I fondly remember the post from one sister warning me about losing my disability if people thought I was recovered; I don't have any as it's summer for the teachers among us, but her point was well taken. I'm amazed! I myself went to a short mtg last week but will not set foot again at my worksite until a good six weeks post surgery. I learned my lesson on that. And yes, the whole world seems to move more quickly than I do these days. Tomorrow is our two week anniversary. I walked too much yesterday and today I'm feeling crampy for it, but still walking (less) and chugging the water. Getting out of bed feels good, but take care of yourself, too. I've gotten lots of warnings from the sisters here to not overdo it. Esp. w/TVH I can't see anything inside, but I do know my body had some tough surgery and needs to heal.

Take care..............let us know how your body responded to the wedding/trip there/back the whole deal. E.

Happy Saturday! I'm feeling great today. I can't believe I have four more weeks to heal. I feel like I can almost do anything, but I am going to take it easy.

DebbieMac: I felt yesterday I could do almost anything and I'm paying bigtime w/cramping/gas pains today. I walked and walked and won't tell you how much, but today no way. It's true sometimes we go forward and then it feels like back. I haven't used iboprophen since last Monday and I'm probably going to use it tonite.

Take care.............You are smart to take it easy while feeling so great. Happy Saturday/Sunday to you. Can you believe it's almost two weeks since our surgeries? E.

In some ways it seems longer than two weeks. The longest I've been away from the office is 10 days. In March I went on a dream vacation to Ireland to march in a St. Patrick's Day parade. That was alot of fun, but sitting at home sure isn't. I can't understand how women are stay at home mothers. Even though I'm feeling fine, I will take it easy. Happy Saat & Sunday to you as well.

It's true red/painful legs could mean blood clots, but the fact that you said they were totally swollen, the both of them, just didn't sound right. And the lightheadedness....good thing you have DH available to get you medical attention. You are in my thoughts tonight and I hope we hear how it's going tomorrow. Thanks for writing in again............I've been wondering and thinking about you all day since your first post/qn was pretty early today as I recall. E
