Hrt

Is anyone going to or have gone on any HRT or ERT? I am sitting here with the Estrogen pill and waiting to start them. I don't know why but I am nervous about starting them. Just because of all the warnings. Two weeks before surgery my blood pressure shot up and did not come down. They ended up putting me on BP meds before surgery. I am kind of bummed out about that too. I always had good BP. I don't know if it was all the stress with what I had going on. For me I had a neoplasm growing on my right ovary and they felt pretty sure it was cancer. So I did not have much time to think about surgery or prepare.

I am so tired and I know if you have low estrogren it can make you tired. Still in pain and seem to get headaches so easy. I hope we can continue with staying in touch.

Yeah, my 20 year old daughter thinks I'm crazy because I couldn't remember something we did a few weeks ago.

I was wondering about these tummy things I have been reading about. I have a wedding to go to in a couple of weeks and my tummy is so big. I know part of it is from the good food everyone has been bringing, but I'm sure it is big because of surgery. Is it o.k. to wear a girdle? I don't know if that would do any harm. All I know is that the dress I wanted to wear will not look good with my fat belly and I don't have anything else nice enough to wear to a wedding. Any ideas? Maybe it's a good reason to get a new dress!

I have a friend coming to take me to lunch today. I am so excited! I've only gotten out for errands, this will be my first fun event. I'm hoping she'll want to walk around in the mall too. I need a few things so I can work on my scrapbooks.

Has anyone esle been nauseated. I had an abd. hysterectory on July 13. I was off pain medicines in 5 days and have been feeling pretty good. I had a good appetite the first few days home and then not so much of an appetite. I'm still eating though but I feel nauseated most of the day. It's not bad enough to keep me from eating, but I'm just wondering if this is normal.

Hi Byfaith

Because of being away from home..I made sure I had consultations with 3 gynae's before the surgery, one in UK, and 2 here and all said I should keep the cervix if at all possible so as to avoid prolapse and apparrently more condusive to an active and fulfilling sex life after??!!!

I have noticed that on this site, nearly everyone has had theirs taken away, perhaps this is just something that different countries have different practice on and different views??!!

The Malaysian locum I saw yesterday was very surprised that I had kept my cervix and wondered why I had specifically asked to (which of course I hadn't) so I think the norm seems to to to have it removed.

I am so glad that your pathlology was clear, thats great news.

Take care xx

I do too. It's exactly the same, not enough to keep me from eating some, just annoying.

I had asked my Dr. again right before taking me into surgery and the first thing she said was keeping your cervix does not make a better sex life after. RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY 15yr OLD SON! . I actually was concerned about that of course, but also prolapse. I sure do not want further surgery. Makes me a little nervous.

Excellent question, Debbiefej .. I don't know how much pressure we should put on our swelly bellies as we heal! Maybe start a new strand with that good question in post op discussions. Let all the ladies 'weigh in' E.
