I work in an office and timed my surgery because we are not that busy in the summer. I thought maybe I could go in a few hours next week (Had TAH on July 13). But after today, I think I will wait the whole 4 weeks and then the 5th go in a few half days.

Someone from our church just called and asked if they could bring over something for supper, I said, Oh that is so nice of you.

I'm not feeling that great today. I feel a little lightheaded, first time, so I'll try to take it easy today. A friend of mine has a daughter who is the lead in a play, I told her I would attend when I talked to her on Sunday, I was feeling good then, but I'm not too sure now. I'm a little nauseated too. I don't really have pain, only when I tough my abdomen and stomach area, but I'm just not so such I should go out tonight. I won't be driving, my husband is going along. I'll guess I'll just have to wait and see. I'm not sure if my friend will be happy if I don't go, but if she is a good friend she should understand. I just feel bad because I haven't been to one of her daughters plays in a while. We moved cross town and it hasn't been as easy to get to her plays.

Don't push it, Debbiefej. It's tempting to go out but if you are lightheaded, nauseated and a little bit of 'uncomfortableness' in the abdomen/stomach area: I'd say those three are enough to rest tonight. I didn't go to a movie until 12 days after surgery and it was tough sitting there and I felt good going into the theater. Take care of yourself.... everyone says it to me, so I'm passing it on to you! That's great that someone is bringing your family dinner tonight. And good friends WILL understand if you aren't there. A hysterectomy is nothing to play around with. I've sure found that out and I was 'totally healthy' going in! Go easy.................E.

yes, I had a restfall evening. Thanks for asking. I had a lot of adhesions around my bladder.
They did not know of any bladder damage until that evening and my Dr. came in and ask how I felt. I told her I felt like I had to pee very bad. MY catheder was blocked with a blood clot and when the nurse irragated it, it was ALL blood clots. They took me in for a cat scan to see if there was a leak and no leak. The Uroligist thougt it may be bladder cancer. He scheduled surgery the next morinng to go clean my bladder out. This sugery was done thru the vagina.
I woke up in recovery and they told me no cancer. The next morning went back for another CSAN and when they where fillling my bladder I asked how much more fluid are you going to put in my bladder I felt like I was going to burst. They stopped the fluid did the cat scan. This time it showed 1 1/2 inch tear in my bladder. Had surgery the next morning, that is when they cut me in same incision again and repaired it. Yes, I have been thru quite a bit,but I am trying to stay positive and I know in time, it will all be behind me. I went out today and picked up a few sun dresses to cover up this thing attached to my leg. I felt pretty good. When I got home I felt same pain on my left side. Just took a pain pill, hopefully it will kick in soon. I am on my 10th bottled water, I like to see my urine clear and not pink, then I get discouraged. I want to stay positive!!

Chat with you later.

RooksScoob what a time you went through. I'm glad to hear your on your way to recovery. Yah the sundresses feel real nice on the stomach not tight at all.
Ele. - O believe me when i do go back to work on the 13th there will be hardly any lifting at all. But the DR. did say i could lift up to 20lbs now but not all day long. And i will only be standing and walking maybe 2 hours out of the 4. My supervisore is a really good friend of mine and she did say for me to get a DR.s note to make sure i don't do to much. Even though she won't let me anyways. haha.

Doc visit

Today was my postop. I had no internal exam, he said that would be at 6 weeks. He asked me how was my spotting. When I told him I never had any at all his jaw hit the floor. What about pain? Nope, doing okay, went back to work yesterday. He said "You are doing great Superwoman". My path was good. Uterus twice the normal size, benign polyp the size of a thumb, small fibroids and something with the cervix that we hadn't known about that would have eventually caused problems. He said the same stuff, if I have pain or spotting then my body is saying slow down, just gradually increase activity.
I was swollen and a tad sore this morning after being at work 4 hours yesterday but I was fine after I started moving around.

Here I was expecting him to fuss at me

Still no vacuuming, laundry, cleaning the pool etc. I am dragging that out as long as I can get away with it

Fantastic news, captain crunch! I'm so happy the path report was good. No one can yell at me to not walk my 10,000 steps a day when you are already back at work!! Amazing. Take care. E.

wow Rookscoobs, your story is incredible! You deserve lots of sundresses! Glad you've had a nice day

CaptainCrunch--Congrats on the awesome doctor's visit!

Girls, sometimes i feel like Debbiefe--lightheaded and a bit nauseated....could this be due to lack of hormones already? I wonder about that because otherwise i am feeling great!

Oh today I noticed a little bit of "leaking"????weird. I was standing brushing my teeth and out came a little bit of watery discharge (pee? dont know) it was the strangest thing....happened twice so i had to put on a pad. Has anyone had this happen?

Elefan, I am going to try very hard not to lift anything in my classroom on that first day back. DH says he will go in with me for a couple of hours and help me unpack and move around furniture. I also hope to enlist the help of my teens, ds and dd.

I don't know about the liquid coming out....that might be a good new thread to post on post op discussions, Phillipians446...and the question about lightheadedness is a good post op thread, too. I'm post menopausal even prior to surgery, so I can't help out w/that, either. Ah, well............I send lots of positive energy your way tonight! E.

Ok today ladies,
I went to shop a little just looking for elastic waist bands capris or dresses. Didn't find anything. Stopped at UPS to send back a whack modem from verizon, ran to applebee's to get a giftcard for my BF (1 yr anniversary today)Also, I went to the DMV for a temporary handicapped application. I am due to go back to work in 2 wks (I think) 4 wk recovery and I work downtown and walk 7 blks to/from car. That might be pushing it, but we will see when I talk to the dr. tomorrow. I also carry my purse and another bag, with my shoes, lunch, etc. Tonite, my BF is picking me up and we will go out to dinner. So far, a great guy to put up with all of this for the last year. Almost no X because of pain (at least I wasn't having any) and he hung in there. Still can't do anything. I got him an applebee's giftcard and some cologne (cuba). No pain meds today, since I will be drinking champagne. I have grown very fond of you guys. Special shout outs to: elephan, relief, lin914 and painfree, who had her surgery July 3rd.
