complicated surgery?
Has anyone been told that their surgery would be more complicated because of scar tissue from past c-sections?

i had 4 previous abdominal surgeries (2 of them csections) and my dr said it would be no problem to do the laparoscopic supracercival hysterectomy. everything went smoothly for me.

complicated surgery?
I had two c sections and a bunch of scar tissue. My doc said it would take a little longer than normal but she didn't mention complicated. We will see!!

complicated surgery?
My doc did tell me that due to a past c-section she may encounter scar tissue and have to use that scar to open me up. I'm fully expecting my LAVH to turn into a TAH once she looks around in there.
If I wake up in recovery with 3 little incisions vs. a big one, I'm ahead of the game!

complicated surgery?
I had TAH after two c-sections - used the same incision for all three operations. My doctor never considered a different procedure, given the scarring she'd encountered just doing a pap. She did say that she wouldn't know for sure whether my ovaries would stay until she got in there, in case one or both were scarred to my uterus. But both were free and I got to keep them.

complicated surgery?
Hello
My doc didn't use the word complicated, but he did say that he was expecting scar tissue, and maybe a problem with my bladder and uterus being stuck together since I have had 3 c-sections. The last one was only a year and a half ago, and since it hasn't been a long time, that would make things more difficult. I actually just started a new thread about a similar topic.
good luck

complicated surgery?
When making the decision on what procedure would be used my previous c-section was a factor. My Dr. did not say it was more complicated but it would take a bit longer. My uterus was fused to my abdominal wall. He actually cut my old scar out and I have a wonderful thin scar now. I thought the first one looked pretty good but this one will be barely noticeable once totally healed.

complicated surgery?
I had a c-section 9 years ago, and a TAH/RSO 5 weeks ago. Dr. never mentioned it pre-op, and at post-op appt, said everything went smoothly and as planned.
So, based on the other posts, the scarring might take a little more time in the OR, but don't know that it is "generally" a big issue.
