TAH: Hysterectomy just for ovarian cysts?

Just thought I would ask if anyone had a hyster for JUST ovarian cysts?

Everyone is different, but why remove the uterus for an ovarian cyst(s)? I had several cysts removed before I had to have my uterus removed. My uterus was removed due to prolapse and excessive bleeding, not because of ovarian cysts.

I think the reason behind removing it all is to keep from having any more surgeries in the future. I have had my tubes tied for 8 years. Major pain from cysts and 5-6 on each ovary. Not sure we can save the right ovary, not sure I want to try to save it. Im 32 and I know that means HRT for years to come,but i do not want to ever have surgery again for something that can be taken care of now. I was just curious if any one else ever had it all taken out for cysts?
