How long??
I will be having my TAH on Tuesday. I know everyone is different as far as how long it takes to recover and all but typically how long will it be before I can wear my regular clothes?

How long??
Hi shelly42!
I hope this article from the Post-Op Articles list will prove helpful to you:
Clothing - Suggestions for Post-Op Attire
I didn't want anything rubbing on my incision for at least a couple of months afterwards, so I stuck with loose-fitting clothes in soft, light-weight fabrics.
Many s and Best Wishes,

How long??
I am 8 days post op and cannot imagine putting on my jeans at this point. I think it'd really hurt my incision. I'm really comfy wearing athletic type pants, knit capris, jammie pants, etc..
Besides having a sore tummy I feel really good - I do tire quickly but I feel LOTS better than I anticipated I would.

How long??
Oh my. You all are frightening me. As for the article I can not wear my night clothes. I don't ever, no matter how ill, wear my night clothes all day. That would cause me great depression and agitation. And, I rarely wear "exercise clothes" because they are like pajamas!
I'm having a TAH the first of november. My son is getting married at Christmas. I absolutely have to be in normal clothes by then no matter what it feels like. Frankly, I hope I am in normal clothes at T-giving. Otherwise there is will be no T-giving and no Christmas shopping for me.
My uniforms at work are a little big. so, hopefully that will be okay.
I just keep thinking of the women I know that have had them and most of them had their jeans back on when I saw them the first time at 4 to 6 weeks post op. The jeans I buy these days have some lycra in them and are very soft. So, I'm going to think positve and believe I will NOT be wearing maternity clothes afterward.
I wish it were summer. My clothes for summer would be more accomadating of this procedure. I refuse to buy new clothes for this. I'll just have to adapt like I did when I had shingles.
Good luck all. I am going to cross my fingers we are all back in our clothes when we are released to normal activity.

How long??
I am a jean wearer -- can telll you at 2 weeks out I am not ready for the extra material of a jean zipper going across my tummy.
I do not have sleep clothes so to speak -- only when company comes--
but I found wearing hospital scrubs with a tie waist allows me to feeel dressed with out the added pressure on the belly.
There are tons of pretty colors out there and relatively cheap at Wally world.
I am wear the shirts I regularly wear -- just leave untucked -- that is the hardest part for me -- as I feel that I am not totaly dressed unless the shirt is tucked in.
But I do not feel wearing pj's to the store is acceptable -- but with hosipital scrubs -- you can still feel good about yourself.
