You will NOT fall apart. You will get through the next 7 days, and you will be ok.
Is there anything you can do to take your mind off things for awhile? Read a book? A favorite hobby?
I know I'll be the same way the week before my date, but to tell you the truth I WISH i only had 7 more days!
It's normal to be scared...really!

You are not alone in feeling like you are falling apart! I can bet my cervix that everyone of us LIW are putting allot of footprints on the walls!
I have 12 days to go and got a week off from work before the surgery so that I can try and relax and get this pain to calm down some but I already made plans in between the grunts and groans to get my house all set up for "ME"!
I have found this to really kill alot of the time and also it took my mind off of worrying about "what if people come to visit"? Is my house clean enough? Now if I do all this before hand it will pass the time away faster. I am also going shopping to get me a couple of magazines for when I get home and a nice pair of sweat pants (supersized) and a baggy shirt. This I am doing for "ME". Its all about you so you go and do something that will make you feel good before and after the big eviction!
Good luck honey.... we're all here for you...

39,
Breathe..... Yoga helps me so much when I feel like my insides are trying to get out through my throat. Okay that sounded absolutely disgusting, sorry. I know that you have probably heard this before but they all say this is really the worst part. As hard as it is try to focus on something else, something that makes you very happy. Hang in there kiddo, and you know a glass of wine or a nice gin and tonic can't hurt can it? Just try to stay clear of Tequilla shooters, they might make you want to dance on the table. LOL

I had a month to wait before my surgery and it was truly a scary time for me. But I got through it somehow, one day at a time. I am 54 and this was my very first surgery and I had never been in the hospital as a patient before. I worried about everything. We have all been where you are. Just know that you have many sisters here who are willing to do what they can to help and will be there for you at any time. Hang in there all you LIW's.

Thank you ladies, I'm sorry to be such a baby!
Normally I would whip out the chocolate but I am a diabetic so that would only make it worse for me!
I think I will clean the house, if I put things in order maybe I will feel better, I do draw so much support from you sisters you are all so wonderful. Thank God I have you all to listen. I hope I can comfort someone the way you all comfort me.
Sending 's!!!

I was an absolute maniac two or three weeks before my surgery, then I cried all weekend before I went in on March 22. I survived and I'm glad I did it. Cut yourself some slack - it's a big deal. It's normal to feel the way you're feeling. This isn't the time to be strong - cry on as many shoulders as are offered you.
