Happy about upcoming hysterectomy, but have a few 'sex' questions.

I am sitting in preop waiting to be called. Was a little emotional last sex 2 nights ago. Worried. I am keeping my cervix and am hopeful that the less cutting will serve me. As i sit here and my fibroids are throbbing in my right pelvis, it helps.

I am hopeful that more people turn to the internet when things are bumpy and that if all is smooth, there is no need to find support online. I just hope I am mot trading one set of problems for another.

This is my fear, trading one set of problems for another. I can see myself becoming emotional during our last sex before my surgery as well.

I am a bit worried because my cervix is being removed. I wanted less cutting as well, but alas that does seem to be my fate. My fibroids do not hurt, but they do make me unattractive and the gut malrotation, tailbone pain, and the inability to pee like a normal person is wearing me out. I am exhausted.

Thanks for the thread! I'm scheduled for surgery on 12/2 and I'm worried about orgasms as well. Unlike many of the women who have responded I do have pleasurable uterine contractions and I'm really sad to be loosing them. I've heard keeping the cervix can be good for women with uterine contractions, but the risk of having adeno in my cervix and continuing to have mini-periods with cramping is just not worth it. So I'm just hopeful that I'll be content with the clitoral orgasms and maybe I'll manage to convince my vagina to join the party - I think I've had one vaginal orgasm when my husband and I were first married so it's possible!!
