Surgery 10/01/04 Enemas or Liquid and TT on the side
Hello ladies. I have been lurking for several weeks but feel that I now need some help. I am having a TAH BSO with cervical removal and a TT on Oct 1. The doctor has given me the choice of doing 2 enemas or drinking the phospho soda stuff. (forgive the spelling).
People have been mentioning the TT side of the procedure and I don't think mine will be any different. I have endometriosis so the hyst might take a little longer. How the procedure was explained to me was that the PS would do my opening incision and some lipo and then the GYN will come in and do the hyst. Once the hyst is completed the PS will come in and remove the excess skin and close the incision. They want me in a binder for a minimum of 2 weeks and the drains will be there for five days. The no shower for five days is the part I am trying to get over.
Sorry to rattle but I am really curious which option some of you princesses chose and how they worked out. I won't go for pre op until Thursday it appears so I won't have much time to digest the information. Any assistance or suggestions would be appreciated. I had to drink Go Lytley once and it about killed me. Cold salt water is all I can compare it to.
Thanks to everyone that posts here to make it easier for all of us pre princesses.

Surgery 10/01/04 Enemas or Liquid and TT on the side
Hi!
I just had my appt with PS yesterday and he told me the same thing...he will make incision and then gyno goes to work and he closes with the TT.
I didnt even get in to the details yet - I have a month but I do know that they said drains for 5 days and a tummy garment to be worn for about 6 weeks will help with the procedure.
Told me that no driving for about 4 weeks? What about you?
A lot to absorb but all worth it
Good Luck to you,
Jen

Yeah sounds a lot like I was told. The PS told me that I had to wear his garment for the first 2 weeks and then I could go to Sears and buy a thinner more comfortable garment that would provide the same support.
I was told at least four weeks before I could lift or do any driving so I am nervous about that. My DH will be leaving town 31 days after surgery so I am hoping to behave and heal quickly. I know that the support garment will help suppress the scar and make everything "stick" back together better and it will help with swelling. Good luck with you surgery. Waiting is driving me nuts and I am at the point that I just want it done and over.
