Re: I am "ruining" my life because I am "so young" ,need some postive outlooks.

Wow, I only wish I had it done sooner--I went for years since puberty with severe pain and not knowing what it was, and after having an exploratory laproscopy I was finally informed at age 40 what the issue was--severe endometriosis and fibroids. Apparently it was so bad that it was affecting my other organs, which was some of my other symptoms "seemed" unrelated. Hopefully now I will have a normal life without all that pain! I just wish I had this gynocologist back in my 20's. You need to do what you have to do and be glad that you won't live the majority of your life like the rest of us and had it done at a the right time. Also, since you are young it will probably be easier for you to recover too. (And fyi, I have heard that same thing too--that I am "so young" andheck, I'm 40! I had one woman say "don't you want to have babies?" and I guess the jerk didn't know that I CAN'T. Oh well, there will always be people with opinions and who want to interfere. But take care of yourself--we know our bodies best and shouldn't let others make us feel badly when we are really just taking charge and doing what is needed. Makes me think of the title of a (good) book called "Our Bodies Our Selves", and they are ours--not for others to judge or try to control.

Gosh... those people need to just mind their own business!! You just focus on what makes YOU better & tell them to "kiss it"!

I just don't understand why people think everyone else's reproductive system is their business. But then, opinions are like rectums. Pretty much, everybody's got one.

Re: I am "ruining" my life because I am "so young" ,need some postive outlooks.

I understand completely what you are going through. I turned 25 less than a month before I had to have my hysterectomy. I had been living in constant pain for almost 12 years. People that don't have our "problems" don't understand what we go through. You have to think about your quality of life, living in pain is no way to live. Bottom line, it's your decision and you know what's right for you. I am 6 weeks out from my surgery and am glad that I went through with it. Still sore but no linger in pain.
