laparoscopic hysterectomy Monday

When I signed the consent it said it could turn into a total abdominal. What would warrant that? I'm sort of afraid ill wake up with a cut open belly and an extra three days in the hospital.

I could be wrong, but I think that is fairly standard language so that if they run into some problem during surgery, they can switch to open abdominal. I have read excess scar tissue sometimes can cause this, or other problems relating to the size of the uterus.

Thanks. I suppose that's what I was asking. Like what has to go wrong. I'm worried my uterus may be too large
