Postponed Surgery

I am so disappointed...I was running a fever all night last night, was supposed to have my preassessment this morning, but was still running a fever, I went to my family doc and I have the flu! I left crying! I came home and took my meds and feel a lot better, just weak, coughing, but not aching anymore...My gyn called while I was sleeping, she heard the news, she was calling to reschedule...This is such a bummer. I'm gonna go back and rest, just thought I would let you all know.

Dear Fullofhope,
I can imagine how upset you are --- it takes so much energy to get ready for this surgery, and then to be sick and have to reschedule.... too much.

sending you s and and I hope you feel better soon, and don't have to wait too long for the reschedule date.

Hi Fullofhope

I am so sorry to hear your news. I can imagine how disappointed you feel as I may be in the same situation asyou.

I was supposed to go for my pre-op yesterday, but it had to be cancelled. No bed. This is not unusual here but I phoned again this morning as requested and I am still waiting for their answer.

Let us know the date you have been rescheduled. Take care and get plenty of rest so that you are in super form when the time comes.

Lots of hugs

I'm so sorry that you're sick and have had your surgery postponed. It is important to be healthy though so it is for the best. Take good care of yourself, the flu is a nasty thing this year. I'll be praying for you to get well soon.

Please don't forget to change your date on your profile when you get it.

I'm so, so sorry. We prepare ourselves emotionally, physically, and spiritually for the surgery, and no matter how hard we try, some things are just completely out of our hands. I know that this must be a huge disappointment.

Yesterday was my last day at work until February. Two people who work in very close proximity to me have come in with horrible colds. I ran around with a can of Lysol, washed my hands every hour or so, and tried as best as I could to avoid whatever bug it is that they have. Add to that, dbf has had the same thing for the last couple of days. So, I'm on mega doses of Vitamin C, lots of water, and Tylenol (approved w/ doctor before taking). So far, no fever, but you never know.

Lucky us, scheduling surgeries in the middle of what is turning out to be one of the most severe flu seasons in decades!

Hang in there FOH , and take care of yourself! Keep taking those meds, you will be a princess before you know it!

I am sorry you are having to postponed your surgery, but being healthy for this procedure is very important, I could not even think of coughin the first week, it would hurt a lot, sneezing was no fun either. so is best if your are completly recovered from the flu before going thru with the operation. You will need all the strengh you can get for afterwards, I take a couple of naps every day, because i tired very easily......but i still have no regrets.
keep your chin up and I hope you get better real soon.

Sorry to hear you're sick and had to reschedule. Perhaps it's for the best, but it's still frustrating, I'm sure, when you have everything in place for a certain date only to have it changed. Get lots of rest so you can get better soon. Take care.
