If it wasn't for the information I acquired here I don't know how I would have managed. It's like they put us on a need-to-know basis. But it's our bodies and we need to know! Hang in there it does get better.
My doctor didn't say anything about how it would be afterwards. Nada! Only the lifting restrictions and stuff. Even the pamphlet she gave me said nothing about what or how I would feel afterwards. This website and all of you have helped me learn so much and feel normal during this crazy time! Thanks sugarandspice for the explanation. I had no idea.

Hi Lpn573.... I can't wear my jeans either. It's all sweat pants, pajama pants (yep, pajama pants) or one other pair of black stretch pants. I still have swelling and I'll be three weeks tomorrow! Yep, keep crying over the most stupidest stuff. And I feel like a big fat fatty too!!! But... we know we aren't big fat fatty's and we're going to all get thru this together!!!

Re: Emotional but still have ovaries

I am 5 months post op and still can't wear my regular clothes... Although i have also lost 10 pounds. Stretchy waist grandma pants are very depressing. My stomach is huge and round and sore still. Very tired of it.

Re: Emotional but still have ovaries

And did anyone's doctor tell them that they should go out and buy some stretchy pants? Mine didn't! We should design our own special swelly belly pants that have "Hystersisters" down the sides of them so at least we'd be stylin'!

I agree TNfarmgal! Thank God for this website or I'd be going nuts too. It's helpful to know you're not the only one going thru it. And it sure seems like we are going thru a lot post op!!!

Re: Emotional but still have ovaries

I would have been totally freaked wight all the different pains and different discharge and weepiness. If I didn't have you ladies to ask, I would have been calling my doctor every day. She and my GYN didn't tell me a lot of things I might experience after so I was unprepared. I get the feeling they didn't want to scare me. Like I may not have these issues, so don't bring it up unless I ask.
