Swollen, itchy lips???

My vaginal lips are swollen and itchy. I don't know if I'm having some kind of reaction to the pads/pantishields I'm using, or if this is a normal part of the recovery process. Anyone?????????????

I had my LSH one week ago (took cervix + uterus). I don't know if that matters. Thanks! I sooooooooooo wish I could take a bath, but I know I can't...........

Re: Swollen, itchy lips???

It sounds like you are having a reaction to something or you are have a yeast infection. Have you tried using different pantie liners? If it continues, please call your doctor. He or she should be able to give you something that will help.

Re: Swollen, itchy lips???

Thanks, danni. I haven't used pads in so long, and I couldn't remember which ones to buy, so I probably got the wrong ones. I'm so sensitive.... If it doesn't go away, I'll call my gynecologist though!

Re: Swollen, itchy lips???

Did you accidentally get pads with some type of "odor shield"? I did once and caused a fire down below. (I also have super sensitive skin.)

Make sure you clean the area with a very gentle cleanser and rinse, rinse, rinse. At this point you'll probably feel like the water is a fire extinguisher. Gently pat dry, use a hair dryer on low or air dry before you redress.

Do you have any pads you used presurgery that you can use to see if it is indeed a reaction to the pads? Or can you send your hubby out for a different brand (the smallest count the store carries, just in case those don't work either).

If nothing changes, call your DR.

Good luck!
