Re: WHAT exactly are we leaking for 6 weeks after a hysterectomy???

I am so glad to read all these comments. I to have the vaginal discharge. It is pinkish when I do my walk, or get up and about. Not always on the pad, but when I wipe. I equate the smell with the hospital. That is why I think it is not an infection. smelled that before and know the difference. But it makes sense that fluid needs to escape and will take the quickest route. Yesterday and today, have found myself stretching the length of me in bed. It feels good and my body just does it before I think about it. So, that must mean it is OK!
Hugs and healing thoughts to and for all of us.

Re: WHAT exactly are we leaking for 6 weeks after a hysterectomy???

So glad to know this is normal! I had the stinky foul smell for the first few weeks, now that's gone but my discharge has increased (I'm six weeks post-op, everything removed). It's the caramel brownish almost mustard color and seems kinda mucus-y. It seems more comes out when I bear down, cough or sneeze, although my dr. did put in a sling for my bladder, I guess that doesn't work for whatever ick is coming out of me. I do have another dr visit coming up in two days, so I will definitely ask her! Also feeling pressure on my bladder, like maybe I have a bladder infection, too although I don't have pain or frequency or feeling like I have to go right away.
