I was a member fo the EA discussion forum after my EA (Novasure) and I was not as fortunate as most and mine was not successful. Just as hystersisters is quick to tell those seeking alternatives to hyst about their board, they are quick about telling us with failed EA's about your board. My mother had hsyt at 34, my sister had spontaneous menopause at 43 and I was bleeding 17 out of 20 days. No one I knew was experiencing this--no friends, no co-workers, no family, NO ONE! I felt so alone. My DH even told me about 2 months before I decided on hyst that "you need to quit acting the way you act, everyone you know is sick of you and your moods, everyone knows you bleed all the time but no one gives a ****, so just get over it!" I don't post as much as others, post a little more that some but I found out I'm not alone, there are others that have been there and do care--and I found this in strangers, not friends, family, coworkers, etc. I found this in people I will probably never meet face to face but will always consider my true friend.

I registered because I was scared to death and felt so alone until I found this website. Lurking wasn't enough for me I wanted access to it all! The first day I found the site at 3pm and did not get off until 1am!!! I couldn't get enough...everywhere I went I found more answers and a new sense of calmness where there had been FEAR.
Thank you for being there!

I began lurking at the suggestion of a friend who was a "sister". I was getting so much information and thought it was such a great site that I registered and began posting. Started with questions and now almost 7 weeks post op, I hope my experience will help someone else and I post now more than ever. Thank you for such a great place to get information and to get support from people who really understand!

My reasons for registering were two-fold, first off, I was new to the hysterectomy thing, and second I was scared to death, I lurked for a few days, and read the posts, got alot of information from the posts, but also from the resources. I found this site AFTER I had the hyst, but also after I had a cancer diagnosis, I have visted many other sites, some way bigger than hystersisters, but the support and love and concern that I got here, the calming reassurance was the single thing that made me a registered user. The hyst is growing more and more a distant memory, it been almost a year. The sisterhood, and the friendships that I have made here, keep me logging in.....

Thank you-
snickers

I registered here because after being told I had out weighed all my options I had no where else to turn. I convinced myself that I was the only one in the world going through what I was going through. After being a site on yahoo where they made it seem as though after a hysterectomy you shrivel up and die I was directed here. And I'm glad. Being on this sight truly helped with my pre op and post op situations and I would direct any and everyone here thats willing to learn more about hysterectomy. This is an AWESOME sight!!!!

I registered because I wanted answers to MY questions. I know I could have just done a search as I had the same old questions like everybody else. But it's not just pure information that you need sometimes, you know?

I was really scared before and after my hysterectomy and found this site one night and thought to myself, I wish I would have known about this before my surgery. I just wanted to donate to keep it going so someone else who feels alone and scared discover that there are so many caring sisters out there who have had and are having the same fears and feelings they are experiencing.

I registered because, I had questions that I did not really get answers to. I wish I had found this site before I had my surgery, I probably would have done some things differant. i had tried other places.. including the internet to get some answers, this site not only helps you feel not so alone, but you can get answers that make you understand some of the things you are going through. I also wanted to help others, and give them some insite and understanding using my experiance.
This is an AWSOME site!!!! Encouraging and uplifting when you need it too!

I registered because this site is a gift from God and I am thankful for it every day. My doctor is good, but very clinical, and he's a man. The women on this site are just like me. We're all searching for answers that in many cases only experience can provide. We share eachothers' joys, sorrows, fears and are here to support eachother 24 - 7. I've recommended this site at least twice in the few weeks since I found it. I'm looking forward to the time when I can start giving out more than I've been receiving!
