pre-op and post-menopause

I have my appt tomorrow for my pre-op and are very excited. Now just when I thought I had everything going my way, I find out I'm post-menopause. This would be a good thing, but I still have menstrual cycles every 2 weeks. Has anyone ever heard of this. I am of course bringing this question up to my ob/gyn as this will be the 1st time she'll be hearing about it. My primary physician is the one who gave me these results.

Post-menopause or peri-menopause?

I've never heard of a post-menopausal woman having periods - unless there was something very seriously wrong. I would definitely verify this with my doctor.

It is not really a period. It is dysfunctional bleeding due to something wrong with the uterus. Someone in my Bible study had an ablation after menopause for that reason.
