Upcoming hysterectomy and repair 6/2: outpatient or hospital stay?

I am having hysterectomy, taking out all but ovaries. I am also having a cystocele to pull my bladder up. I was just curious is it will be out-patient or will I stay in hospital over night?

You can stay overnight and it still be outpatient. I've done that.

There are a lot of variables that go into whether or not you'll stay overnight, so you'll have to check with your surgeon about what the plan is for you.

outpatient is 23 hours but a lot of people go home same day. ask your dr what he usually does...good luck!

Stay in the hospital as long as you can! Get your pain under control, get moving and pass gas if possible. Once you get home it's so much harder to get the are you need. I pray all goes well for you!

so true!!!!

Outpatient is up to 23 hours, so many stay overnight. See how you feel, many were happy to go home rather than a night in the hospital.
