LSH: Terrified it will be canceled!!

I am ready for scheduled LSH on Monday. My work schedule is cleared for weeks- all of my shifts are covered. My husband has the week off. Everything is in place for surgery and recovery.

We live in Georgia and now they are predicting wintry weather for Sunday/Monday- and Georgia doesn't handle snow well. The anxiety has officially kicked in- I have to wait and hold my breath all weekend to see if the bad weather comes in as predicted and if everything goes on as planned or gets canceled. For all I know, I could go through the whole hassle of bowel prep Sunday only to still have it canceled Monday. Trying to pray about it and not get overly stressed, but I am having a hard time right now.

I had the same fear. Ice was predicted for my area the night before my surgery. 2 days before, the forecast changed and all was clear. You might call your dr. office and see what the procedure is for this possibility.

The Winter Storm is supposed to hit Raleigh also. I talked to the nurse at the hospital and she said 'We will be here. We have sick patients to take care of and we never close. If you can't make it in you should call.' (And, she gave me numbers for the Charge Nurse and the Desk Nurse.)
So, maybe you want to get a hotel room close to the hospital to make sure you can get there? I want it over and will do anything to make it happen as scheduled! (My surgery is Thursday but it is typical for us to get snowed in for days if the temperatures dip below freezing at night.) Best wishes Amy!

I would get a hotel room close to the hospital. My surgery was rescheduled three time( not all for weather), let me just say it was not going to be rescheduled a 4th time!

Thanks everyone! We live pretty close and my husband lives for the idea of driving in snowy weather. I have no doubt that we will make it there, I was nervous about the Dr and staff being there. I called the hospital and spoke with one of the nurses in that department. She said it is highly unlikely that anything will change and to plan on coming in. I don't care if it even gets delayed a few hours if my Dr takes a while to get there, I just pray it happens MONDAY!! : )
