Combined surgery in 4 days

Mine is this friday, June 7th, and I do not know how I am going to work tomorrow, I also keep crying whenever someone mentions it. I mostly am worried about how I am going to manage, my husband works out of state, and I have a non-driving teenager who needs to eat and get taken places. I just found out last week, so not much time to prepare.

I am sorry you have to have a hysterectomy but glad you found this site.

I know I several times before my surgery, and many more times after. I also only had 10 days to prepare, so I understand the panic.

You will probably not be driving for a few weeks - ask your doctor about your restrictions. Can a neighbor or friend help out? Maybe parents of friends of your teenager?

For more prep, you might want get meals in the freezer that you can just pop in the microwave. Keep breakfasts and lunches very simple. Can a neighbor or friend stop by and help?

Also, get loose fitting clothes - I spent 12 weeks in sweats and old shorts. Get granny panties one size too big for you.

Take enough time off work for you to heal.... you only get one chance to heal right. And no house cleaning after surgery - for a long time after surgery. Just decide on a dirty house for weeks.... I started naming dust bunnies....
