Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Aug 24-Aug 30,2020

Hello, I'm doing okay. Still so very sore. Couldn't get comfy last night through the pain. Have not been able to pass gas or any bm yet. My whole stomach area feels like I got hit by a truck. But I guess that's to be expected for a little. I'm going to try and relax and use the heating pad today. Gas pains have def gotten better though. Yes, Definitely try and rest get up walk a little and then rest some more. Hope everyone is doing good.

I am 3 days post op now (Wednesday morning). Is everyone else bleeding bright red blood? It was just brown spotting the day after I came home but yesterday and today is bright red blood. My surgeon travelled here for my surgery and I have no way to contact him and no doctor to ask. Just wanted to know if others are also bleeding? Not super heavy, sort of like a period.

I had my surgery on Tuesday. No bleeding or spotting although I’ve read it’s normal. I think as long as you’re not filling a whole maxi pad in an hour, you are okay. Can you call the nurse line at the hospital just to doublecheck?

Bright red blood is concerning. I second calling the hospital and or the phys office.

Hospital doesn't answer medical questions over the phone and docs office is closed until Monday....and even then will be EXTREMELY difficult to contact. (Rural medicine in Canada). Now I am starting to worry. I thought you all would say you are having it too....

No on call phys to cover weekends for the office? Anything in your discharge instructions that would address?

Nope, nothing like that here sadly. Medical care is very sparse and difficult to access. Our emerg wait time is usually about 16 hours. I was on the wait list NINE YEARS to get a gp. It is hard.

Ow!!! I can relate. Sneezed yesterday with no time to grab my pillow. Yours is worse imo...not just one cough usually when that happens.
