pre meds

i had an op 16 years ago and was told by someone to ask for a pre med before surgery i didn't know what it was so i did. The morning of my surgery the nurse gave me abou 5 tablets and said it was my pre meds, they knocked me out i remember nothing except waking up bac in bad after surgery. i was wondering do they still do the pre meds here n england, does anyone know

I guess it all depends on your surgeon's pre-op routine but don't see why you can't ask for something to relax you prior to surgery; I'm sure many ladies have done this.
