Vaginal Hyst - 1 NIGHT STAY - Long Enough??

One night for me, too! By 7:30 in the morning after my surgery, I was showered and ready to go home! I had to wait a few hours for my SO to come get me, but I gladly stayed only one night!

From what I have heard, with a "straight" ( meaning no problems and no other repairs needed) vaginal hyst a 1 night stay is the typical, for a vag hyst with A&P repairs, bladder slings etc usually 2 nights, occaisionally 3, with an abdominal hyst 3 nights max. Go figure !!!!!!!
Of course with an orchiectomy.........(Removal of Man's testes)
They usually stay a week............. Someday more women will be in politics and "governing" these insurances, then the Kings can go home same day and the princesses can use the castle where the rest is really needed.

I had a TVH with A & P repairs and stayed only one night. My surgery was early in the morning, and I was home by mid-afternoon of the next day. In my case, the repairs actually were more uncomfortable than the actual hysterectomy, and I was more comfortable at home, since my poor roommate was so groggy from her colon surgery that she thought I was her and kept calling to me to help her.

If you do not feel that you are ready to go home, let your doctor know, and if he feels that you should stay another night, he will contact your insurance company for authorization.

I hope you will all have successful and uneventful surgeries and recoveries. Remember that you've only got one chance to heal correctly - please don't do too much too soon!

I had TVH and stayed one night.
I could have stayed for two, but I wanted to get home to my own bed.
I did everything I was supposed to do in the hospital in order to be discharged after one day, such as use the toilet and walk a couple of times.

I had my LAVH on May 4th, and stayed only one night in the hospital. In my opinion, I recouperated much better at home in my own surroundings. One night was more than enough for me. You just have to be careful not to overdo once you get home! Good Luck, I hope your recovery was as easy as mine.

Had my LAVH on July 14th, stayed only 1 night, went in @ 6:30 a.m. was released @ 1:00 p.m. the next day. I was feeling great around 2 weeks and went back to work in 4 weeks. Please get plenty of rest and drink a lot of fluids. My prayers are with you
