advice on calming nerves, it's my night before big day at the castle

Ok, so I am having surgery in 9 1/2 hrs. and I am feeling very nervous and scared about everything!! I have to be at the hospital in 6 1/2 hrs. and I live 30 min. from the "Castle" . I don't think I am going to get much sleep tonight.
Any advice on how to calm down enough to sleep and stop my worrying? Please help!! Thanks in advance!

Worst part is I can't eat or drink anything, and that is what I do when I am nervous!! Not allowed any gum either.

HELP!!

Breathe , breathe deep, breathe really deep. Don't worry about sleep, you will have some assistance on that tomorrow!

I actually fell asleep early in the morning before my surgery and boy, did I dream! Something about a "birdwoman" - don't ask.

My surgeon woke me at 7:45 from a deep dream. I was crying in my sleep and the both of us had a good laugh about it right there in my room before they took me to surgery. He promised me he would chase the pelicans and whooping cranes out of the OR!

Read some of the "memorable moments" forum for some laughs and some reflections if you can't get to sleep. They will help put your mind at ease.

Everything will be fine, sister. I'll be looking for your recovery posts in the next few days! Take care.

hopefully you are sleeping now...but if not, i suggest you read a book..it will get your mind off the surgery and most likely put you to sleep.

best of luck...will be thinking of you.
