Atypical adenomatous hyperplasia

This is what I've been told I have.

Does anyone else have this or have had this? My TAH is next Thursday (June 24, 04) and I'm just curious.

Atypical adenomatous hyperplasia

Rabbit,

I had/have cervical adenocarcinoma in situ and CIN III (severe) dysplasia with HPV effect. The CIN part, (I, II, or III) indicates the severity of the atypia. Adenomatous means that it is the glandular cells in your cervix/uterus that are abnormally changing, as opposed to the squamous- skin cells. There is an area in this site that has a dictionary to help out with the medical lingo. Has your doc suggested a treatment? There are several options at early stages...

Hyperplasia

Rabbitt,
I have been diagnosed with Hyperplasia with complex cells. Try searching through past posts and you will find some information. I also cruised around the internet and came up with more info.

Hyperplasia does not seem to be as common as other problems. It is also more common in older sisters in later menopause and often women who are overweight. Don't know about you, I happen to fit into all those categories.

The type of cells, your age, and childbearing history all seem to contribute to the form of treatment. The major thing is the threat of endometrial cancer.

If I'm wrong about any of this someone please correct me.

My Hyst is 11 days away, but who's counting?

i had that too! Was not dx'd until pathology report... a thickened uterine lining is all I knew about.... i don't know why, but i was surprised at the diagnosis.

i was 50 at the time and very overweight, so i guess i fit the profile too..... almost a year after tah... i feel the best i've felt in probably five years. surgery also came with a 75 lb weight loss

rabbit and spsd == best of luck with your surgeries.... (((hugs)))

Thanks so much

Thanks so much for all of y'alls help! I can't tell you how much this website has helped to calm my fears and just wrap my head around all of this!

Knowing that there are other people that have gone through all this and have come out all the better for it just makes it so much easier to take.

Thanks for the suggestion of searching through past posts. I'll do that during my lunch break today.

I go into surgery on Thursday and I have to admit I'm still a bit scared. The prayer board has been great in giving me specific scriptures to write down and meditate on.

Thanks again ladies,
Rabbit
